Fellow MBers. You need a distraction from the grind.
Spinning the radio dial on a road trip recently, I came across this old B.J. Thomas tune, "Hooked On A Feeling." I don't remember what year it was popular, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Of course for me at the time, it could have been any (young) guy's innocent love song. Hearing it again now, if there was ever a contest for a WS anthem, this would be a leading contender. It has all the ingredients - "feelings", "addiction", euphoria, etc.
(The challenge is below.)
I can't stop this feelin' deep inside of me, Girl, you just don't realize what you do to me. When ya hold me in your arms so tight, You let me know everything's all right.
I-I-I, I'm hooked on a feelin', High on believin' that you're in love with me.
Lips are sweet as candy, the taste stays on my mind, Girl, you keep me thirsty for another cup of wine. I got it bad for you, girl but I don't need a cure, I'll just stay addicted and hope I can endure.
All the good love when we're all alone, Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on.
I-I-I, I'm hooked on a feelin', High on believin' that you're in love with me.
[Instrumental Interlude]
All the good love when we're all alone, Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on.
I-I-I, I'm hooked on a feelin', I'm high on believin' that you're in love with me.
The challenge:
Write a new verse (or two) to add to the end, using MB terms like, Plan A, Plan B, exposure, fence sitting - whatever - to make it a happy MB ending. In other words, assuming B.J. was a WS, the new verses should capture coming out of the fog from his affair and realizing his wife and marriage is the right place to be.
Hint: Econo Lodge rhymes with "back seat of a Dodge".
I get to be the judge. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
First prize is a FREE session with Steve H. - assuming he agrees. (He doesn't know this yet, but what the hey? Let's put him on the spot!)
Second prize - you get your pic posted RIGHT NEXT to arkie's on the MB photo site - courtesy of Faith1. (You're guaranteed to look good!)
Third prize - your choice of a ride in 2long's really cool Model A truck OR Pep's Beatles tee shirt (laundered).
Any registered MBer is eligible to enter. Post entries as responses to this thread. Plagiarism (for improvement) of prior entries by others is permitted as long as you change at least one word.
Rhyming, while not essential, is appreciated by the judge.
edit: mods send me their entries on the back of a $20 bill.

I can't stop this feelin', 'cause feelin's define me, Girl, you give me freedom, from my Spouse's tyranny. I'm in a fog for you, girl, and my latin's kinda strange. Perhaps those silver guys, my brains did rearrange?

My first entry:
"Wait a minute Honey, I'm not sure it's fair. My wife has the cell bills, there's exposure in the air!
Plan A has me queasy, Plan B's must be near. Damn, she's lookin' better, The fog - it's gettin' clear!
All the good love, I had it all along, You make me sick girl, it was all so wrong!
I-I-I, I'm hooked on a feelin', I'm high on believin', you're NO GOOD FOR ME!!!!"

I-I-I, I'm hooked on endorphines', High on believin' that you'll 'be there' for me.
Lips were sweet as candy, but now they're kinda sour, Girl, you said you'd divorce "him", but now we're near the hour, You say "we want 2 work it out", and blew away my power, If you don't dump him and take me back, I'm jumpin' off that tower!
All the SF when we were all alone, I want more, girl, yeah throw me another bone.
I-I-I, I'm hooked on endorphines', High on believin' that you'll 'be there' for me.
[Instrumental Interlude]
All the conditional love when we're all alone, Keep it up, girl, 'conditions' turn me on.
I-I-I, I'm hooked on endorphines', High on believin' that you'll 'be there' for me.
I'll take another whack later, gotta go!

Ok, here's my verse.....
How sad...I used to like BJ Thomas....the raindrop man. ;(
I can’t say I love you, but I do love me…. Babblin’ like a torrent brook, is how I’d like to beeeee…..
When I go back home and later get my fix, Then I come back all mixed up not knowin’ who to pick.
I I I I, am hooked on believin’ That I’m not deceivin’…..that you’re in love with me.
Lies as smooth as whiskey with a bite that’ll burn your eyes. That’s how I play this game at home and love you one more time.
I just have to pretend to be aloof and insecure. The more I whine the less I’ll hurt a fact I know for sure……
All the good love is gone from me Because I threw away my family…Now
I I I I , am hooked on a believin’. That I am deceivin’ no one but me……..
(interlude). <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Ok, I think you ought to throw in a ride on Believer's Harley with a ride and a tour to 2L's mansion then meet with Pep and Company for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Six long weeks since I’ve held you, and I’m jones’n for you bad If I could only you hold you, I wouldn’t feel so bad.
But I promised not to call you, the counselor and she agreed That no contact was the answer, but they don’t understand I only want to call you and tell you that it’s over, and that you’re the best I ever had.
Jones’n for you baby, Jones’n really bad.
Meet me at the love shack babe, just one more for old times sake. It has to be the last time, my family is at stake. If she finds out she’ll leave me, of this I have no doubt It was clearly in that letter, the path that I must take.
She seems so different lately, with a smile that’s not fake. The children hardly know me, cuz left them in the wake. Oh gawd what was I thinking, she was right all along. My family is the only thing that matters, and that's where I belong.
Get away from me girl your poisen, and a drug that I won’t take. You used to be so tempting, oh gawd it would be a mistake. To call you one last time, just for old times sake. I need to find that letter, the last one that she wrote me.
Ain’t jones’n no more baby, ,I’m clean and going home. So don’t you try to call me, or I’ll get a PPO Does she still like flowers, I’ll stop first at the mall. And I think I’ll call that counselor, and finally grab that ball.

I wish I knew the song but I'll have a go anyway:
My wife, I love her but I'm not in love with her I told her I need space need to work things out She cried and she pleaded, asked if there was another I know she needs me I really have no doubt; But
I-I-I, I'm hooked on a feelin', High on believin' that you're in love with me.
So she decided to take life by the balls She gathered evidence and decided to expose I could care less, marriage was for fools Her stupid plan A & B on me she did impose; But
I-I-I, I was hooked on a feelin', High on believin' that you're in love with me.
And then wham, my life did fall apart When your husband found out you'd given me your heart And back to him you crawled and left me all alone My soul mate was gone, no contact by email or phone; And
I-I-I started to doubt my feelin' No longer believing that you're in love with me.
With my tail between my legs I crawled back to my wife My children, my friends, my home, my life Thank God for that woman who took me back in Gave me forgiveness for that most awful deadly sin
I-I-I, I was hooked on a fantasy, a dream Reality is what I really need, it seems.
I sing it to my own tune!!

weave - I don't have the new (used) boat yet. I'm currently "between boats".
But you guys are doing good!
But re-read the instructions - not all of you have used MB terms nor created the happy ending!!!
tt's was really good! Could be in the lead!!

Well, since I'm not in the lead I feel compelled to say this:
WAT, never start a sentence with "but".
PS: I did refer to the Plan B letter, and also to her Plan A (smile). It may have been too subliminal though.
And I did have a happy ending. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I'm not done yet though.
Look out TT, 2long & Orchid...back to the drawing board after work. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Never thought I'd eat no burger with my own steak back at home But yo'junk-food wooin' don't take no chewin' easier than cookin' at home
Emotional needin' is emotional feedin' and burgers don't make good health my emotional colon is impacted and I yearn for my own chef
Will my own chef still love me, now I'm so sick of junk ? My appetite has been not right and I'm feeling in a funk Ashamed I enter my kitchen expecting my chef to have gone away instead I see him cooking for me a menu called 'plan A'!

I saw BJ Thomas when I was a kid down in Atlantic City...my favorite song was "Rain Drops Keep Fallin' on my Head." Thats a whole other thread.
Hey what's BJ stand for anyway? LOL.
Here's my BS version of the MB anthem:
I got this sinkin' feelin' it won't let me sleep I wonder if you realize that you're in so deep You won't hold me in your arms at night You use anything just to pick a fight.
I-I-I I keep on readin' Hope and believin' you'll be in love with me
Tips come slow but steady, I know you've done the deed You've turned to another tryin' to fill a need. I got the proof I needed, I needed to be sure. Now its not a secret, the lies I won't endure.
All the contact's ended by mail, fax or phone. If you choose me then, you can come on home.
I-I-I I keep on readin' Hope and believin' you'll be in love with me.
You say its all over, that you've been so cruel. You want me back, cause baby you're no fool.
I-I-I I keep on readin' Now I'm believin' you're still in love with me.
ETA: Hey where the "unga chucka, unga chucka" part? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Here's my attempt. I don't know the song so I don't know if the meter is correct... but WTH..
The taste has turned so bitter, the fog has filled my brain. Another day of withdrawal and I think I'll go insane. My lighthouse is at home, true love is shining bright, I feel dirty when I'm standing in the light.
I-I-I I'm rooked on your dealin' I'm low from our deceivin', now it's tough love for me.
Why didn't I see the truth, the hurt I've done to my family The drug is always pulling but No Contact is the key. Forgiveness is so cleansing and I stand with my soul bare. I know we will make it 'cause I bought "Surviving an Affair".
My-My-My My heart you ain't stealin' I'm high 'cause I'm not leavin', only real love for me.
