BIL & I were talking the other night and we were talking about the word 'progress'.... been having to deal with H's sibling issues (very messy drama queens out there ), anyway BIL is very articulate and has good RB skills. I didn't teach him, he just has that talent and he uses them well on his dysfunctional younger sisters.

Anyway back on the word 'progress' he then commented about 'pro and cons' on a particular issue we were discussing. Then he mentions you ever wonder why our legislative branch is called CONgress? LOL!!!

Well in all fairness, I looked it up in 'dictionary.com' and wow, here's what I found:

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)

3. a formal meeting or assembly of representatives for the discussion, arrangement, or promotion of some matter of common interest.
4. the act of coming together; an encounter; meeting.
5. an association, esp. one composed of representatives of various organizations.
6. familiar relations; dealings; intercourse.
7. coitus; sexual intercourse.
–verb (used without object)
8. to assemble together; meet in congress.

If you keep going down to WordNet it gets a bit more explicit (can't post it here - :blushing icon: )

So I guess BIL's play on words uncovered a bit more than we bargained for.
