Well...it is. You file for bankruptcy, you get to start over but only after you overcome the scars left on your credit report...some you never live down. Divorce is the same way except we are dealing with our hearts and the hearts of our loved ones and children.
Just a thought
DDay 2001, separated 2002, divorced Feb 2003, OW/WH married 2004 I believe, He cheated on her 2006 I believe. A vicious circle. I am with someone now who I lived with in 1993...funny how things work. I learned alot.

I figured it's more like the one who invested so much in the marriage gets screwed and the irresponsible one walks away free and clear.

I don't think anyone walks away free and clear...the BS may not be able to see it and think that...but the WS is paying one way or the other...

Kinda have to disagree. In time, bankrupty will be pretty much meaning. Divorce will always be with you in one form or another. If you kids, it definitely doesn't end.
I don't speak from experience on this in divorced, but being the product of my father's 2nd marriage, I've seen how the damage from the 1st marriage never completely went away.
