Just had a bit of a downer.....my children usually leave at noon on Thanksgiving day to spend the weekend with their dad. My mom usually goes to my sister's. My sister isn't speaking to me.

That is all the family I have.

The Diplomat isn't coming here for Thanksgiving and I am not going there.

This is probably the last Thanksgiving for xh's dad who has lung cancer.

Read between the lines and figure out the problem.

You can come and visit any of us, the only problem would be getting here.

We'll give you an open invitation to our house.

Dinner will be at 1:00PM - but not 1:00 sharp - if you get my drift.

Assignments are kind of informal - tell me what your specialties are, and if there is a good fit, you can bring whichever you desire.

Please answer a few questions for me -

Do you like whole wheat, or white rolls best?

What is your favorite part of the thanksgiving meal?

Do you have family Thanksgiving traditions that you would be willing to share with us?

Tell us what your families Thanksgiving meal usually consists of.

(Written for Cinderella, but everyone can contribute.)

Well, it looks like I'm cooking breakfast then maybe spending some time w/ my 83 year old mom which is good. How many people get to spend part of Thanksgiving w/ their mom when she's that old and healthy?

Good for you - Good for her.

You still have to answer the questions though. Don't try to get out of it. naughty

Do you like whole wheat, or white rolls best?
Wheat, generally, but our yummy herb rolls are made with white.

What is your favorite part of the thanksgiving meal?
Dessert.

Do you have family Thanksgiving traditions that you would be willing to share with us?
We always pray together...besides that, the food is the main tradition.

Tell us what your families Thanksgiving meal usually consists of.
Stuffing, sometimes soy turkey, chicken skins, rubber noodles (not sure what they're actually called), mashed pototos (as the Princess just wrote), sweet potatoes, salad (mostly just to have something green on the table, and not because any of us actually plan to waste stomach space on it), dinner rolls, 4 kinds of gravy, pie, cherry crunch, and sparkling apple cider.

And if Neakbro gets his wish, there will be teriyaki gluten shish kabobs, wonton with veggieburger filling deep fried and dipped in sweet/sour sauce, chickettes, and fresh cranberry relish with oranges and walnuts in it, too. And sugar, obviously. Without it oughta pucker your mouth shut till at least the 1st of next year. :MrEEk:
