I finally remembered the Dervish's recent song lyric mixup. It's from the second verse of Jingle Bells.

"A day or two ago,
I thought I'd take a ride,
And soon Miss Fanny Bright,
Was seated by my side.
The horse was lean and lank,
Misfortune seemed a slot..."

My misfortunes usually seem large and round, but if theirs was a slot, who am I to argue?

Well if she is ballin her eyes out again maybe she should think of changing the name of this thread...

Maybe something like...

The Prophylactic Aisle...

or

The Viagra Aisle....

Just a thought. think

Yes, I'm balling my eyes out over our slotted misfortune. cry rotflmao

In the kids' version they sang, the 'upsot' line had been changed to something about falling in a drift. It all rhymed somehow...

Get this....I have just signed up to do my second half-marathon. I am doing it to raise $3000 for Gilda's Club Nashville. Here's the scoop!

My daughter wants to run a half-marathon. I can walk one. We wanted to do it together. Her grandfather has small cell lung cancer. I have lost several friends and loved ones to cancer. This was a natural.

It's not feminine but you know I have nothing better to do than be dressed for a walk at 7 a.m. every Saturday from now until the end of April.

That is so cool! The kids did a partial marathon at school, and even got a medal for it. Walking for cancer is awesomer than that. smile

AJ is on his way to rescue Dad again. He should just about be getting there by now. It's a long tow home, and on Dad's birthday, too.

Happy Birthday to Dad Clam! laugh

Aussie was recovering from surgery when a nurse asks him how he is feeling.

"I'm OK but I didn't like the four-letter-word the doctor used in surgery," he answered.

"What did he say," asked the nurse.

"OOPS!"

Frankly Rella he's darned ... see no SWEARING grin .... lucky to be here making jokes ... so he should do exactly as the docs say .... well one can live in hope I guess

Did AJ pick up Dad?

Has the Dervish sung new lyrics?

Has rella gone mad signing up for a marathon?

Oi... time to give the patient his meds .... he must be getting better .. he's complaining about them.

I mean REALLY complaining ...... would it be a LB to say whining? well I won't then. stickout

Mikey has been SO good the last 10 days with me being away at the Hospital so much. Going to have to give him some extra hugging .... even if big Sis and Grandma spoilt him rotten.

I wanna go to sleep ...... I'm exhausted.

Hi FF!

AW, I missed the part about the surgery. You tell that man of yours to take better care of his carcass than he has so far!!!

Had a funny in church today.

Grandpa and a sweet little old lady were in line together at the potluck.

GP: You first.
SWOL: No, you first.
GP: No, YOU first.

(Repeat 7 or 8 more times.)

SWOL: No, YOU first. You're older.
GP: No, YOU first. You look older!

Now that would have been really funny Neak ! laugh

Missed mass this morning ...slept right through to 10.30 & then mum & dad arrived to see Aussie.
House was a mess of course  perfect timing mum blush.... laugh

but anyway Aussie looks a lot better if thinner than ever. Aussie & dad had a quiet little one of those man to man talks about whatever but dad didn't look too happy after. Secret mens business I guess.

Liz has been a bit emotional last few days ... up & down like a yoyo.. but not saying much ... figure she'll say something when she's ready so I'm being really good and not prying. Yes I know .. a miracle crazy

Maybe just stress of the job... looking after Mikey & hubby and things. Well the girls are doing a small gig tonight at a French thing ... French Noumeia promotion or something like that ...down in Fremantle so maybe its all just been too busy for her.
Jonny has to go to the barracks this arvo for whatever they do.

But its been a rather busy to say the least fortnight. I wonder when the holidays start?
