I saw this on the news last night how Fantasia did not break up the marriage but told the wife she did not know how to keep her man.

This is becoming the norm...sadly.

American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized Monday night for a drug overdose, her rep confirmed to TMZ.

Barrino's condition was not life-threatening, WCNC reported.

Barrino is at the center of a lawsuit that charges she broke up a marriage in part by making a number of sex tapes.

Court documents filed by Paula Cook said Barrino and her husband Antwuan Cook began having an affair in August 2009.

The complaint referenced sex tapes, saying the "Husband and Ms. Barrino have at times recorded their illicit sexual activity."

Barrino denied being at fault, with her manager releasing a statement to TMZ saying Barrino is "certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of Cook's marriage."

Barrino was a crowd favorite when she won the third season of "American Idol."

OMG! I'm so disappointed to hear this about her. I loved the movie on Lifetime and actually cried when I watched it.

Guess she'll have to do more R&B and less Christian and Gospel music in the future.

She did say that she is a Christian woman and had "nothing to do with the breakup of the M", while she took him on vacations, bought him expensive presents and showed him a fantasy lifestyle.

I don't get it. I watched her movie also and was moved by it.

This is yet another celebrity that I will no longer buy their music or watch their movies.

Can only set boundaries for myself.

She has been absolute nightmare of an OW. There's been stuff all over the news about this for the last few days. Can't say that I have any sympathy for her. Gee, she's been bragging about how the MM liked her so much better and how his wife just didn't know how to keep a man. If she's so happy and proud, why the OD?

Seriously?

Wonder if it was a attention seeking behaviour because MM wanted to end it. Who knows.

I ran into a lady last week at work whom I hadn't seen in a few years. She was asking me how my WH was. I told her about the affair. Then I said, "I am in NC, partly waiting for the affair to end because most affairs end within 2 years." She said, "Stop right there, Do you see that blond lady over there?" We look and she is gone. She continues, "I have been having an affair with her husband for the past 4 years. He even left her for me. Our affair hasn't ended. They don't all end within 2 years." I was dumbfounded. How could someone say that to me after what I had just said? I simply said, "MOST affairs end within 2 years." And I walked away. Needless to say, i will NOT be talking to her ever again. I will RUN the other way. One day, she will get hers. end t/j

Scotty, you showed great restraint. I would have been tempted to b&*ch slap her and inquire, "say again?" Arghhhhhh!!!!!

I was at work at the time. It was more that I was SHOCKED that she would say that. It absolutely was like she was proud or something. I lost ALL respect for her in that 5 second exchange. I don't know if she realized it.

Scotty, she realized it alright. You said what you said, and her response was to DEFEND HERSELF. She was trying to make her point to you about HERSELF. Do you see that? Your situation was about HER....waywards see themselves only. The woman you talked to could only see HER OWN situation - and had no ability to even relate to what you might be feeling.

Any other person would say, "Oh, Scotty, I'm so sorry you're going through this," or something of that nature. But a wayward currently in an affair, who is entrenched and fully entitled? Nope. She has to bring it in about her, and to TEACH YOU something....because HER AFFAIR IS UNIQUE AND SPECIAL.....and your life is nothing to her. Because the world revolves around HER AFFAIR.

It is the way the wayward mind works. The reason she responded so defensively? She ASSUMED your talking about an affair had to do with HER LIFE. Probably she thought you brought it up because you already knew about her affair, and were taking a shot at her........

It's all about them.....alllllll about the wayward.

You are right. It will bite her.

And she knows you don't respect her anymore. You left her standing there in her own filth.

Lucky to be where I am, in a safe place to get marriage-related support.

This whole idol story just makes me gag. In the general news media, people are posting things like, "Oh, hon, my prayers go out to you for a complete recovery. I'm so sorry that nasty BW is spreading rumors about you." Puke.
People are so clueless, and such fake Christians, too.

SB you made a lightbulb go off in my head. This statement is so true about the waywards carrying about themselves. I see that now with XH...

eg: Me: Got a medical bill for DD. Your portion $22..

Crazed Alien: Move on, I will clear up my finances...you have poisoned DD blah blah blah.

It truly is all about them.

Scotty: do you know who the woman was that this wayward was talking about? Time for a little exposure to their long term A??? Obviously your company, as mine, condones it as long as it is quiet and puke "respectful"

I agree about A makes me gag. Eh' not to pretty when exposed to in the light. Is Fantasia name short for "fantasy"?

Fantasy = explosion in media!

One of the hallmarks of Addiction is extreme selfishness and self-centeredness. Nothing matters but the drug (no matter what it is), and that's because the drug controls you - you don't control it.

The other two hallmarks of Addiction are:

(1) Lies, lies and more lies (to protect the drug)

and

(3) Escalation (you need more and more and more of the drug to get a high).

Every "ordinary" affair has the participants behaving like addicts for each other, although full-blown sex addiction goes even further and involves multiple partners, porn, etc.

The more I've learned about infidelity, the more I've learned about addiction. As the Harleys have always said, they really are one and the same.

Yes, it would - I just wish the antiquated "Alienation of Affection" laws, which just make people snort and laugh and roll their eyes, could be changed to:

1) Gross Marital Intrusion, to be used against OP who invade and intrude on and interfere with someone else's marriage by knowingly dating a married person.

and

2) Gross Marital Neglect, to be used against WS who ignore their own spouses and children to spend time with other dating partners.

With the massive destruction and devastation that adultery causes, the participants should not just get away scot-free like they do now.

Marriages should be considered as private as a house, in the sense that intruding into them and helping yourself to what you want is NOT okay.

A married person who wants to date other people can get a divorce FIRST instead of tormenting their spouse and children to death with lies, neglect and disrespect.

I'd like to see adultery considered a public health problem, with the huge numbers of murders, suicides, breakdowns, diseases and neglected, troubled children it causes.

Just a thought, of course.

Lol OMG Scotty , she says "stop it right there"? Did she stick her fingers in her ears too?. All the other posters were right on also about this strange one. I can only speculate but what if you described exactly what she has experienced? Maybe you should have said' "Well, with most sane human beings, affairs end after two years, but then we have the really sick people out here."

I wonder what the BS has gone through, knows, and has done for herself.

Sounds like your convictions have routed out the swine again, reminds me of the scripture.

Matthew 7:6
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Jeez well she asked...guess you told her.

FAntasia has lost respect from any person who considers themselves to be moral. She is digusting and deserves everything coming to her. i hope the wife wins her lawsuit and leaves her in the street where she belongs.
