Regarding the Online Accountability Program #3:

I am starting this thread so that those who have been through the Marriage Builders Online Program #3 (previously Marriage Builders Weekend Seminar,) can all put our experiences in one place.

When I came here, I had to search all over the place for reviews or opinions from those who had completed the program. I've noticed that Dr. Harley and Joyce do not upsell the people they help through the radio show. Dr. Harley provides most of his materials free to couples for their personal use. Most of his material is free on this website.

But some couples need coaching and accountability to revamp their marriage. Because the online program has been so helpful for me and my husband, I decided to create this thread to help people weed through the clutter. I have no other incentive for starting this, other than to help people get information about a program which will help them to create a successful and happy marriage.

Please share your experiences if you have actually paid for and followed the online program.

Thanks!

We went through the program in 2007 when you had to fly to another city and launch it in a weekend seminar with the Harley's. We attended our seminar in Orlando, Florida with the Wonderings.

Going through the Marriage Builders course made all the difference in my marriage. We had been "cherry picking" the MB program for 6 years on our own and were basically slogging along. We still had huge arguments and were lost when it came to the POJA. I look back and wonder how we made it as long as we did. I am amazed that I thought we had a good marriage when we fought on a regular basis.

They assigned us a coach, Sandy, who guided us weekly through the program. Some of the first problems they identified was my independent behavior and my husband's angry outbursts. Once we tackled those issues, we went onto learn the policy of joint agreement. [yes, we are the couple who had the fight in the grocery store over lettuce crazy] Eliminating love busters and learning how to negotiate mutual decisions took all the stress out of our marriage and made our marriage a very enjoyable, relaxng place. WE go on 4-5 dates a week and compete to see who is the most "pleasant." We end the dates by asking the other "was I very pleasant tonight??" WE truly enjoy our dates because we have learned to be on our best behavior with each other.

I believe that marriage determines a person's quality of life. My quality of life has improved immensely since 2007. I feel very fortunate to have discovered Marriage Builders and have stayed here to pay it forward. One doesn't have to go through the program to experience success, but if do-it-yourself does not work, the program does.

My husband and I went through the Marriage Builders Online program in 2011. We had purchased the books and workbook earlier in the year but lacked the motivation and discipline to actually work through the program on our own. We finally decided that we really needed the accountability that came with the Online program.

We also had the coach Sandy assigned to us and she was invaluable in getting us on the right track. A great feature of the program is the private forum that we can use to ask questions directly to Dr. Harley.

Marriage Builders completely changed the way we view marriage. As long as we stick to the program, our marriage is great and our life together is very fulfilling.
