Yeah, I know, this has nothing to do with anything.
But since I'm sure some of you have heard horrible things about DOGMA, I wanted to weigh in with some quick feedback.
Yeah, DOGMA is irreverent. It flies in the face of everything you believe about angels, God, heaven, and everything else. But it's also funny, beautifully-written, and in an odd way, one of the most profoundly spiritual films I've ever seen.
Keep an open mind. See it. Try to get past the stuff that even I can understand might be offensive.
By me, it's one of the best films of the year.
H went with me. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] We had a nice dinner afterwards...like a real date.
We are going to his brother's for Thanksgiving. I hate going there; his brother hates me because I am a Jewish liberal. But I'll go. I mentioned that it looks like we'll be alternating Thanksgiving from now on, and that next year I guess I'd cook. No, he wants to take them out. Why? "It's a macho pride thing with me...I don't want to make my wife cook for my family."
Amazing. He almost never talks about any kind of FEELINGS, let alone things like "macho pride" or even using the word "wife."
We're making good progress. He went to work this AM and I'm not even worried. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Now all I have to do is get the guts to leave him alone for a few days for my obligatory visit to my mother's.....

Yeah, we saw it friday night. We liked it too... *very* unusual, and more, uh...less, uh... MORE *DIFFERENT* than I expected! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I was expecting just pretty much irreverence, period - was surprised at the depth of the story line & the intense depiction of evil (n.b. - has some gore, don't take young kids). Lots to talk about afterwards! It probably ain't for everybody! But there were a lot of laughs - it was an *odd* mixture, running from almost slapstick to very intense, but yeah, we liked it!

Hey Dazed!!! Remember me? I am so glad to see you. I have not seen the movie but I have heard a lot about it. With three kids ages three and under, it is hard to get to a movie. But, I want to see it. I sometimes wonder if the people who are protesting a film don't realize that they could be inadverdently helping it. ANYWAY, your date sounds great. How are things? How is the rest of the "old crew"? Do you hear from any of them? I saw Lonestar and CA123 on here. Has Frankie been back making anyone else mad? I always thought he was kinda funny in a black humor sort of way. What about dd99s? any others?
