Why can't you talk? That is the one thing you will have to do! You can NOT reclaim your marriage without it. You can't have a relationship with your Lord without talking to Him and you can't have a marriage without talking to your spouse.

Three weeks is not going to do it. Sorry, but in three weeks time, the counselor will only began to understand the situation and your backgrounds. It's NOT something that you can give a quick fix to, it takes a LOT of effort, time and energy to rebuild the trust, the honesty, the truth of the marriage. If you slap a "bandaid" on this wound without getting down and getting the poison out, it will only seep and reopen in times of stress. Take the time to deal with it NOW!!

A marriage can be saved, reborn, more honest, more open, more communicative...but it takes WORK! It's so easy to fall into that false sense of security when we've been married a long time. We do take our spouses for granted. Personally, I don't see that as a terrible thing unless taken to extreems. We "should" be able to count on them, as they should be able to count on us. That's part of the package. But, if we get so busy in our "other lives" outside the marriage, that we forget that God brought us together for a reason and that He expects us to honor and tend that relationship we make mistakes. The more secure you are in your marriage, and in yourself, the more you have to offer to not only your spouse, but to your God, and to others. jmho
