I havent posted here for a while, although I come and look from time to time, nice to see some new faces.
Here is my sadness for today as I live in New Zealand it was my Birthday yesterday my time, today state side.
Is expecting a birthday card or an email to say he remembered it was my birthday too much to ask?? I mean he only left me last November. I am a bit sad because in some ways I expected more from him, then look at what he has done and he is only running true to form.
What else annoys me, is on his birthday and Fathers Day, I will ensure D gets him a card and a wee gift. He didnt do this for me. Yesterday I was fine but this morning I am angry and sad. He even rang D last night when I had the family here for a BBQ and didnt say anything. I must admit D told him she was really busy playing and had to go. opppps she has her own life even if she is 5

In a word, yes. It is too much to ask that they even think of you.
The same thing happened to me for father's day and my birthday. I gave her a card for both, one from me and one from the kids. She couldn't even get enough together to have the kids write down on a piece of paper "happy b-day" or "happy father's day".
Then, kinda funny, we were talking about something, and I told her "happy anniversary" about a week after the day (Dec. 15). She told me that she thought I forgot. I told her I didn't forget, but there just didn't seem any point in saying anything.
So by the time Christmas came around, I didn't have time to get her anything.
Don't rely on getting anything from him.
Good Luck
Gramps

It is sad to say that it is too much to expect. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever stop being shocked by the cruelty of our once beloved spouses. I quess, in my instance anyway, I still care and love my husband very much, therefore it is hard to come to terms with the fact that he doesn't feel the same about me. Happy Birthday, by the way!!!

Hey Kiwi Girl
It is too much to ask. I went thrugh the same thing. I have also decided to not give her gifts and cards from my D. I do however give my D crayons and paper, or whatever other craft items and ask her if she wants to make her mom a present. Maybe this is cold on my part but it is how I detatch.
Take care and keep posting here, you have to get it out of you.
Bill

Well, I would like to wish you a belated happy birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I'm sorry that he disappointed you. Unfortuntately, that is something you can not expect anymore. They say that our expectations are what set us up for the biggest disappointments. If we change our expectations, than sometimes we can diminish our disappointments. But, I know it is still a major bummer.
