I thought I'd have to wait awhile to hear from you - it sounds like you are terribly busy trying to earn your 50%. Thanks!

Do you think your husband will seek counseling?
Do you have children?

[This message has been edited by Maura (edited 03-02-99).]
[This message has been edited by Maura (edited 03-02-99).]
After reading so many stories on this forum, I'm convinced that it's worth it to fight this hard for a marriage. What you said about your forceful nature also being your strength was interesting. It's so important to keep aware of our better selves - especially in a situation with a controller.
I'm glad your H is talking to your dad. That's great support for both of you.

[This message has been edited by Maura (edited 03-02-99).]
[This message has been edited by Maura (edited 03-02-99).]
[This message has been edited by Maura (edited 03-02-99).]

Maura - Sometimes it's good to emphasize the good qualities about those we love.
I would like to take the opportunity to do that now.
My husband can be the most loving, affectionate person I have ever known. Although he can be overly fastidious about money, he is not in debt except for the mortgage on the house. He desires a good marriage just like I do, and seems willing to keep on trying.
What I need to focus on is making sure I give him the honor and respect he longs for. Sometimes just IDENTIFYING someone's needs can be a great part of the solution.
I desire his happiness and will look for ways to accomplish that.
[This message has been edited by greeder (edited 03-03-99).]
Maura - I read your post on "TO EVERYONE...".
Read my entry, 3rd post up from this one, for this morning.
Could you share with me some of the qualities and traits you love about your husband?
What drew you to him when you met?

[This message has been edited by greeder (edited 03-03-99).]

Maura - I loved reading your post.
Boy, you've really got it bad for him, don't you? That's great. You are so in love with him!
Let's continue on under the new topic "What we DO love about our spouses". I tell how my husband asked me to marry him.
I want to sort of get away from THIS topic (DOMESTIC ABUSE...).
If you have the time and energy, could you write there what you did here so others can read it and be encouraged. They may not check this topic out.
How did your husband propose to you?
Meet me at the new topic!
