It has been awhile since I last wrote, but since all of you were so helpful to me ... I wanted to give you an update.
Story: Married for 7 years, divorced (Nov. 99), dated other people, started to date each other again (2/00), he had PA/EA with ex-girlfriend for 5 months, we moved in together (7/00), D-Day (end of August 00) -- He told me after he had already ended the affair.
Shortly after D-Day, I decided to work my Plan A for 6 months. During the 6 months, there had been contact (a couple of phone calls and one visit to her work) a few times with the OW and it just didn't seem like our relationship was going to recover. So, I moved out. I week later, he proposed (March 01). At first, I was unsure and didn't really trust that he truely wanted to get remarried. But, we have been happily engaged and living separately for 3-4 months. We plan to have a long engagement (1 to 1.5 years) to make sure we are doing the right thing, but so far it looks like we are going to make it.
I just wanted to give other couples hope. It is possible to recover from a divorce and from a EA/PA. Unlike our first marriage, this time we plan to live separately until the remarriage. So far, it seems to be improving the relationship.
------------------
Jennidy
"Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt, and
Dance like no one's watching."

Congratulations, and thank you (perhaps more than you can ever imagine) for sharing this story. In my present circumstances, I need all the hope I can get, and your story gives me a little more hope than I've had.

This is the kind of story that reminds me the future is always beyond our ken, so grinding an X to a fine powder over a petty dispute can never be the right thing to do.

Thanks for posting your update here. So many of us "old timers" and the newcomers are looking for hope. Stories like yours do indeed tell us that none of us know what the future has in store.
Great news. I hope all continues for the best for the both of you!
God Bless,
Mike
------------------
God always waits for the right time to do the right thing in the right way.

Thank you for all your well wishes. We haven't said "I do" yet, but things are definetely better than last year on "D-day" or in 1999 when we got divorced.
Miracles do happen.
------------------
Jennidy
"Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt, and
Dance like no one's watching."

How did you get to this point or should I say, what do you think was the most significant thing you did to get you to the place in your relationship that you are now (re-engaged). Any advice would be helpful. My ex has told me that he wants to try again, wipe the slate clean and have a fresh start but then he pulls away again. I just get so confused and am scared to get my hopes up again.
