I can’t believe I just bailed. H had three rages at me in 8 days, the last one by telephone on Monday “in front” of some powerful people. I went home with a VERY impressive gun-toting professional bodyguard (a good friend and professional associate) and the deputies in two Sheriff’s patrol cars as backup and got him out of the house.
The bodyguard spent the night patrolling the grounds and house. As he predicted, H came back at 3 a.m. and they sat and talked for three hours while D and I slept. Then I filed on Wednesday for a divorce, not a restraining order.
All that work for nothing?

No, it's not for nothing. That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

Hi Karenna
i wondered about you the other day and almost sent you a yearly email! I always wondered about how long you would last, but the last few posts always seemed OK. . . .
I'm sorry to hear that you skipped the yellow card and went directly to the red card, (soccer referee humor!) but you will be much better off without the rages.... . . .
I'm sure your life will be full of more work than just your occupation, but i wish you well, and i for one would like to see you around here once in awhile. . .

Karenna, in the 2 years I have been here, I have truly valued what you had to say.
I am sorry to hear the latest development. I was thinking about you just the other day. Isn't it interesting how life goes like that sometimes?
Anyway, I am sorry to hear this. I hope you won't stay gone so long. You've been a great person to listen to in the past. And, we'll let you vent all you wish as you go through the process. And we'll remind you that you are important. And that all that work made you a better person and more capable of getting through this with peace in your heart. [ September 05, 2002, 10:39 PM: Message edited by: cinderella ]

So sorry to hear this Karenna! It's truly a shame to see such a wise, patient, and caring person such as yourself treated in such a way. Of all people, your H should know that you won't tolerate such behavior. I learned some important lessons from you back when you were posting a lot and going through such an incredibly difficult time in your life. I was amazed at the depths of your patience, your ability to set boundaries in a loving way. Still am. Whatever your H said, it must've been really really really bad for you to choose such a drastic response. {{{{{{{Karenna}}}}}} You deserve better!
