I received the papers signed by the judge and so it is officially done, the 3 year long divorce process is OVER!

Can't say I even went out to celebrate or anything; it was just nice to see it officially being done and that ex's attorney had withdrawn.

I feel like maybe now I can repair some of the damage done by the length of time and having to constantly give in to try and end this.

On a good note, my older D who is in residential therapy is doing great; she is begining to open up about what ex did and is healing. The younger D is coming home after visiting my parents for a month, so I have been playing catch up with work and all while both girls were gone. Work is doing well, and I finally feel like everything will be OK.

Yep, Dippy is a jerk, still doesn't pay his support, is in contempt on many issues, but I did everything I needed to do and now hope it comes back around. A long road laced with every emotion imagined has been taken, and I'm glad to say I am still standing, somewhat rational, and prepared to do what I need to for my girls and myself.

Dear Lori,

You sound so good!!! Life will definitely get better--it feels so good to have it over, doesn't it? It sure is one of life's hardest ordeals--and I am so glad you made it through and are starting to put the pieces of your life back together. I think BS should get a medal--at least a purple heart or something.

I am glad to hear your daughters are both doing ok...it is so hard on the kids.

Take care Bangara-- Pat

Thanks Pat & Dawn,

I do feel relieved! Been doing some house improvements and getting work up and running. Staying busy has helped, the new puppy keeps me laughing.

I do have work ahead of me as far as Dippy and court, but it won't be with all the emotional stuff going on; just black and white and he's in contempt!

The older daughter's counselors are willing to talk to anyone necessary to protect the younger one, so have that going. The younger D's counselor knows what a jerk Dippy is and now that the divorce is final and he won't have Ex's attorney chewing on him, maybe will step up to the plate and put some more protective measures into effect.

Me... well, just trying to keep on building and growing and finding as much peace as I can. So I would say I am healing, too. Always have things to do, the list just grows as I check off something. I've had a guy (seems very nice, we chat a bit) tell me I need to take some time out for myself by meeting him for a coffee, how do you explain that by DOING things I am taking time out? I'm just not ready to even begin the start of a relationship by taking time out to spend with a guy. The guys I work with give me enough "maleness" to last a whole day, LOL. Believe me, I am glad to come home to my quiet little house!

Well, had better get some work done. I think most of us that have finally come through the other side of divorce do manage to grow and move on; I think I can safely say I never want to see my ex again and the girls feel the same way.

Lori,

You sound like you are doing Awesome, I am so happy for you!!!

We that do come out on the other side of divorce do so with a great deal more then what we had on the other side!!!!

I spent the weekend on a retreat with the church up in the Big Horn mountains, God makes some awesome sights!!!! There where three of us ladies that are recently divorced and a lady in the process and one man that is trying to get over it's ok to divorce his wife. And I think by the attitude of the three of us that we may have helped the other two decide that it is ok, that you have to do it for yourself!!!

I am glad to hear that the counselors are so willingly to help protect your younger daughter I am sure that this is a relief to you!!!

Staying busy does help immensely and there always seems to be another project to be done, but make sure while you are staying busy and enjoying that (I know that there is enjoyment in it)that you take time to be with friends be they male or female. So far my circle has been mostly female, but after this weekend I am finding that I don't have to want more then friendship from a guy, so a group of us are going to go out for my birthday on Friday and have pizza and beer.

You need to post a picture of your baby (puppy)!!!!

I think of all the things that I have done the past 2.5 years and many of them I wouldn't have done if still married, so that's ok!!!!

Take care, Dawn

(((Lori)))

So glad to hear it's over ... sometimes that is just SUCH a good thing ... even when we know it's never really 'over' with his kind ... still a very comforting thought that you're not married to it anymore!
