Being single for a while now, I have come to learn that this is so VERY common and EXCEPTABLE these days.. and the younger generation are getting wourse then our older generation.. so I ask you, where are all the GOOD PEOPLE, or at least faithful people out there...?

I have now lived and learned and found that nothing realy surprises me any more.. but when will we ever be able to find trust in a human being again.. When we meet people, we find out later, after emotions have perhaps set in, that they are not who they seem to be.

I'm confused. What is it that Opra is going to talk about that is so bad? If we understand why marriages go wrong, won't that help us fix them or prevent the problems in the first place?

And what is it that's so acceptable? Are you talking about divorce or about infidelity? I think infidelity is becoming less acceptable, slowly but surely.

Divorce is another matter.

You seem to think that we're a worse generation than say those that lived during the 1920s or the 1860s. Is that so? If so why? Is it because we avail ourselves of a legal out? Is it because now women aren't ruined for life if they have an affair? Or are we just meaner and nastier and more evil?

G'morning! I have a replly for you. Don't know how you'll feel about it, but here goes....

WHY? Jesus Christ said this prophetically almost 2000 yrs ago as He was addressing the question put to Him about the signs of the end of time & when God would return to this Earth to put an end to all things.

"And because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold"! Mt. 24:12.

My friend we live in as lawless an age as ever in Earth's history! Lawless that is, in regards to God's Holy 10 Commandment Law. It is ignored. It is preached against in many American church pulpits!! Seriously, it is!!! This happens in a variety of ways. Here's a few:

1. Many preachers in a variety of denominations preach a cheap grace -- sort of an easy believism-feel good, God just forgives you religion. Just walk an aisle, pray a prayer, you're "saved" and that's the end of it. The Law is void. Done away with, preachers tell you & many believe it. No. That's not Biblical! --> Lawlessness!

2. THe majority of preachers in a majority of American denominations preach & live against the 4th Commandment! Everywhere across America, folks break God's Law about His holy Sabbath day. The Bible is unmistakably clear...Saturday is the Bible Sabbath. America breaks it & teaches against it! That is the fact. Jesus said, "Who ever breaks the Law at one point is guilty of breaking ALL the Law!" --> Lawlessness!

3. Adultery & divorce are as common in the churches as outside of the churches! Preachers & churches look the other way. Priests are allowed to get off scot free after molesting children. Church leaders do not hand them over to law enforcement. Lawlessness.

4. Images & statues are prayed to in certain American churches as well as in the largest "Christian" denomination in the world. The 2nd Commandment is broken & this is condoned in the name of religion. Lawlessness!

5. Parents vs children - they are so estranged today. Parents are not honored by children today. 5th Commandment is not upheld. Parents abuse their children - even church going parents. Lawlessness!

6. A Christian counselor recently told me that his business is HUGE & Christian men with pornography addictions are very widespread. Lawlessness.

7. Many churches look the other way on the abortion issue. Millions of innocent lives are murdered annually in our country & world. Lawlessness.

8. We haven't even touched the stealing, lying, and coveting commandments. But suffice it to say that when we look at the huge problem of greed that Christians have, the lack of Truth-telling even from our pulpits, the typical American lifestyle that has everyone at work to "keep up with the Joneses", it seems safe to say that ENVY lies close at hand for all of us, even within the churches.

This is what I see is going on. Jesus' words are exactly coming true. Love is growing colder by the day. We can only expect this to continue as people polarize into 2 groups at Earth's end!! Those who truly love God & fellow man. And those who do not & will not accept God, His Law, His discipline and His Truth.

It is about (more wives in particular) infedelity, and swinging couples.. And the reasons why people stray.. Of course we "all" know here, why they stray.. The tipical reasons, really.. but wouldn`t it be nice if the people who choose infedelity LEARNED HOW TO TALK TO THEIR SPOUSES "BEFORE" MAKING THAT CHOICE!!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="images/icons/mad.gif" />

About infedelity: The reason most tipical that I constantly hear and see, is, more and more people are making that "wrong choice", because they are AFFRAID to "confront" their spouses and ask for their needs and desires, with the one they truely love..! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> (go figure!!) Makes no sence to me, personally, but this is what "IS" happening.

as for the swingers.. Well IMHO They are just sickened minds, who are bored with the one they first chose to love/live with, and have a enormous need for attention from any one who intrigues them.. taking it to the physical level is just an EXTRA experience to explore with them. (to them).

FYI: Oprah is on at 4 and 7 eastern times. for any one who may miss the afternon session..

Yes, I was a WW - though it was not with someone elses' husband..SO I can't see that side of it..

I want to know how they can "play the game" for sooo long..Do they want the WS to get divorced or do they just want to keep the adventure going forever...they don't lose anything, job, status, money, kids, house, but they have more EN/SF than the BS.

Now that I think about it, no days of the week are ever mentioned in the bible.

I'm not going to gain any deeper understanding of my fellow human being from a talk show.

I have to say, only IMHO, and from my own perspective, that I feel Oprah AND Dr Phil, have done nothing but TRY to be an inspiration to all, and "HAVE" helped alot of people in this world.. They have given in so many ways only to touch so many hearts of people in dier need, they constantly contribute their time, money, and do it for the purity of loving what they do for others, in hopes to spread more joy and happiness in this world as well as teaching these people the knowledge they need to learn to live on making thier lives a better place as well... I can go on and on about both of them.. but I think I have stated my point.

To compare THESE TWO, to Jerry springer is (to me) an insult.. I whole heartedly beleive that springer, montel, etc.. are trash shows, and thats all they always have on thier shows.. but I have yet to see Oprah or Dr Phil use their shows in-approprietly.. (or is it just me?)

With that said, I will say one more thing about the show, today.. I beleive this show should have been given to Dr Phil, so he could have put these people in thier places, as far as how they are living their lives, the reasons they are doing these things, etc.. I am possitive he would have had much more to say to them instead of just sitting there, listening.. as she did today..

so yes.. today, was more so a huge disappointment of a show.. Perhaps this will reach Dr Phils show at another time down the road.

Indeed the Bible doesn't use the names for the week days that we do. These came from the Greek/Roman eras, and were typically names for their various gods (Saturday = Saturn, Thursday = Jupiter's day, Wednesday = Mercury's day, etc.)

God numbered the days from The Creation of our world. Days 1-7. The 7th day was designated holy and to be the Sabbath rest day for the entire world. (see Gen. 2:1-3)

Then God wrote it out with His own hand!! Lest there be any forgetting or mistaking it in the 10 Commandments:

Exodus 20: 8. "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
9. Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10. but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
11. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

So God commanded the 7th day to be holy, both at Creation & when giving His eternal Law!

There are at least 5 ways we can tell which day is the 7th day.

1) Simply go to your own Dictionary. Look up Saturday. It will tell you it is the 7th day of the week. Look at your own calendar on the wall. Then pick your jaw up off the floor. It's been there all along....

2) The Bible! All agree Jesus was crucified for our sins on "Good Friday", the 6th day of the week. He then rested in the tomb over the 7th day Sabbath, and His disciples also kept the 7th day Sabbath holy according to the commandment (see Lk. 24:55,56)!!! Then we all know & are grateful that Jesus rose again on "Easter Sunday" the Bible called it the "first day of the week". Clearly the Bible simply teaches that the 7th day Sabbath is the day between the 6th day (Friday) and the 1st day (Sunday) by this account.

3) Languages! In over 140 languages of this world the word for the 7th day which we in English call Saturday, is the word "SABBATH".

4) Astronomers testify that the weekly cycle has never changed. Centers like the Royal Naval Observatory in the U.S. and the Royal Greenwich Observatory in England affirm the fact of a constant weekly cycle. They can show this mathmatically using the starry heavens as a reference point.

5) History bears witness. The Jewish people have kept an accurate record of the Sabbath through the centuries as it is the holy day they too observe, carried forward from their experience as God's chosen people for many years. So now for over 4,000 years, they have preserved the true Sabbath as the 7th day of the week, we call it now Saturday.

These are pretty amazing facts for many of us -- I recall learning this too!!! Now I have to stop and tell you that since I began keeping the 7th day Sabbath holy as my worship day with God, I have never been more blessed!!! There is an AWESOME POWER that attends this day!!!!! It is like no other - for God blessed the 7th day, and sanctified it and made it holy ... for us to enjoy!!!!

Try it! You'll be amazed I'm certain. Jesus is VERY present on His Holy Day.
