I would never have thought a name could bring such feelings of ughhhh towards my h. But it has.
My daughter has the same name as the ow.My daughter had a baby boy last night and guess what? She named the baby the same name as the oc. This is totally a fluke thing she knows nothing about any of this.
I'm just sitting here shaking my head and trying not to dislike my h. I hav'nt said anything to h about this since he dosent even know what the oc name is. I dont think god wants me to forget talk about some nice reminders. I'm trying to find some humor in this Just have had no luck yet with love,floweseed [ July 07, 2002, 01:37 PM: Message edited by: flowerseed ]

The OW had almost the exact name of our child. He used to make mistakes sometimes and say the OW name. Like a knife to the heart everytime. Big trigger!!!!!

Flowerseed, I also know to well the trigger of names, OC#2 is the exact name first and middle as my best friends daughter, but just focus on the blessing of your new grandchild. I hope both he and your daughter are doing well. There is always the possibiliy of a special "nickname" that comes just from "gramma flowerseed" in the beginning. Then after a bit when you see your grandson as an individual person separate from OC, the name won't send triggers. Count your blessings that your H doesn't know the OC name, or your daughter knows nothing of the OC, at least you are in a NC situation.
My congratulations to you and your family.
Tina

flowerseed,
I'm sorry you're dealing with this God knows what the lesson might be...
My grandma called EVERYONE by their middle name... maybe you could start a new trend?

Dear Flowersex...What's in a name? Besides TRIGGERS!!! Haha
Think about the irony of all this FS...how in the world of all these billions and billions of people does it happen that your daughter, who knows nothing, is somehow inspired to name her daughter a name that is like, to you, nails scraping across a blackboard. I mean, isn't life just too ridiculous sometimes? What lesson are you supposed to learn from this, you might ask? Perhaps to find creative ways to nickname the granddaughter.
My husband and I each have an aunt with the same name as OW, my dad used to date a woman with the same name as the OC and my niece is named the same as the OW. After being assaulted with these name triggers for so long now, I find I have become desensitized now and hearing those names anywhere from anyone anymore mean nothing. Perhaps ytou will become desensitized too. In fact, my husband no longer cringes when someone says one of those names because I do not react, therefore, he never notices the names anymore himself...they are just someone else's name.
I like your name, Flowersex...conjurs up images of Mother Nature in the garden with the birds and the bees et al. Very earthy.
Love
Catnip =^^=

hey, I like catnip's point about de-sensitizing(sp?)! OC's name is really common, so it isn't usually a trigger, but XOW's name is. I guess if you hear it enough, it just doesn't matter anymore. Use it to pieces!! Why let XOW screw up yet another part of our lives?!?!
