Can you believe it? His birthday is coming up, and I’m kind of in awe that this much time has passed and we survived it so well. In the beginning, it did feel like all the walls were crumbling down. Every step forward is a milestone. Now I have a little boys 2nd birthday to celebrate, and I’m super excited. Last night we got his pinatas. It’s his first pinata parta. His theme is Monsters, Inc. He absolutely LOVES the movie. BF brought them into the house and Little Man just about fell over. His eyes got soooo big. Everything was Mike and Sully (the main characters). He kept running up and giving them hugs and kisses. This went on for over an hour. I was jealous. I’ve never gotten as many kisses as Mike did; little sloppy, wet, kiss prints all over his eyeball. My Little Man is a baby no more. He’s a little boy, full of energy…..and mischief. He’s gotten into running away from me, at the worst times. This morning, I was laden with purse, diaper bag, papers and a cup of coffee. This boy decided to play “see Little Man run”. So he takes off running down the sidewalk and here’s me, arms full, trying to chase him down. I’m sure it was a site. I guess it comes with the age. Question is, when does it end????????

LOL! I can see you chasing with him an arm full. My baby girl is 2 1/2 I can't believe how time flies. She's has this great vocabulary and is fully potty trained. She shocked the heck out of me yesterday we were playing this game where I ask her what's her real name and she proceeds to tell me all of her nick names, her first name, middle name and last name. She then proceeded to tell me my maiden last name which is this long German last name with Z's and everything she pronounced it correctly and continued to tell me the name of all of my siblings and my parents who also had my maiden name. Shocked the heck out of me because I never told her my maiden name I only taught our full names. (H, I, and the boys) Kids are sponges! Keep enjoying your little boy it's shocking to see them so small and make the transition into little people with personalities and attitudes.

Unsure

Happy Birthday to Jonas-enjoy every day, every minute with him. Now that my children are so far away from age 2, I treasure those memories.But each day will be filled with new ones. Happy times to both of you!

How is the boyfriend situation going, anyway?

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday dearest Jonas....Happy Birthday to you....

Ohbratti Girl, I just sent you an e-mail and it bounced back. I sent one a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened...I added a "1" and it still did it. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but if you still have my e-mail, send me something so I can get the right stats on you.

I pictured you with loaded arms and a hot latte trying to walk with Jonas when he decided to take advantage of your disadvantage and be daring and adventuous...

Even though they are a handful, you are making memories that will last forever. I wish I could go back in time and relive it all one more time with my son. You're so lucky...

Have a wonderful birthday party and take lots of pictures...one thing I wish we had when my son was little was camcorders. Back then we just had cumbersome 8mm and you had to get the big double lights and a huge screen and it was such a big pain in the [censored] that it was rare when people did home movies. Now they make it so easy for us to have wonderful movies of all your special moments and it is one thing no one should go without especially if you have small children because those years fly by so quickly.

Love

Catnip =^^=

HAPPY BDAY JONAS!!!!! Kids are so precious.

My advice? Find a mommy-mentor. Pick a woman (or several!) whose parenting you admire, preferably with older kids AND a 2yo, and ask her advice often. Watch how she deals with her kids. I learn so much that way. There's no substitute for experience, but each kid is a little different.

Happy B-day again!

Thanks for the best wishes! I'm really excited about this birthday. He's so aware of his surroundings and is pretty opinonated....for a 2 year old. Last night we went trick-or-treating and it was so much fun. After a couple of houses he figured "it" out. He was running from door to door. If the home owners were sitting on their lawns, handing out candy, Little Man would take their offering and STILL run to their door and knock for more. It was too funny. And then, you want to talk about confusing....his cousin dressed up as Spider Man. There were a bazillion Spider Mans out. Little Man kept chasing each one down, thinking it was his cousin. I was rolling with laughter.

And, as far as the boyfriend situation...it really couldn't be better. BF is very attentive to me and Jonas. A perfect example of who and how he is is when my camcorder went on the fritz and I was going to take it in for servicing. Before I could do it, BF went out and bought a new one...bigger and better, so to speak (he's such a guy). He wanted to make sure we had a functioning camera around for those "spontaneous moments" with Jonas. I'm finding that my child is gravitating more and more to BF instead of me...which is not a bad thing. They've developed their own little routine and inside jokes. BF was checking his firefighting gear last night and had Jonas all suited up. It was hilarious to see. The stuff was so heavy, Jonas could not stand straight, and he couldn't move his feet to balance himself because the boots were also way too heavy for him. But do you think he wanted to remove the stuff? Heck no! He wore it with the biggest grin. Partners in crime, that's what they are. Trouble with arms and legs!

Catnip: sorry about the e-mail. Our senior person went out on leave and I've been working my caseload and hers. Because she's the senior person, she has all the complicated, messy litation. I've been up to my eyeballs in work and didn't have a lot of time to spare. As soon as I saw your post, I went in a cleared out my inbox. You should be able to send now.
