husband has tried to have affairs at least 3 times i know of in 6 months and my heart is breaking.. also addicted to porn. There is more to all this but i dont feel i can go on altho he now says he will get help. i just dont think he can successfully defeat the pattern of infidelity he has had all his life (he is 50) he has never been faithful and has a trail of victims.. what is my responsiblity here as a christian to him.. he finally needs me now but i am crushed.

you have my empathy. I am going thru a similar situation with my husband. I found a wonderful book by Dr. Dobson called "Love Must Be Tough". While other books seemed to make the woman do all the work on the marriage (ie if you only lost 15 lbs and make the home a peaceful environment for him to come home to), this book deals with it from an entirely different perspective, but still from a Christian view. Trust me-I went thru at least 25 of my mother's books and this was the only one that I found to be truly helpful and honest. I'm trying it now.
