An easy free/low cost 'date' can be going for a scenic drive. Many of our friends do this as well.

When it's the right time of year, a 'fall' drive to look at changing leaves, halloween decorations, etc. Winter time of course means you can drive around to check out the christmas decorations.

But other times of the year can be just as nice. We like to drive around neighborhoods and look at homes, housing styles or landscaping ideas. It's also fun to find a really expensive area and drive through looking at the houses (such as Beverly Hills in Southern Cal).

A friend of mine and her husband do a "Sunday afternoon" drive every Sunday. They jump in the car with no plans on 'where' to go and drive around their small town... into the country... and small surrounding towns and areas. They've found some great farmers markets, in-home businesses and beautiful parks and rec areas this way.

The only cost is your gas! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Great idea!!! We have always enjoyed driving on trips, but had not really thought about driving around the area where we live. Will definitely try doing this one.
