I have used St. John's wort since November and although it has made me calmer I find myself still depressed. I am thinking of going for some prescription medication and am wondering what their effect is ? Thanks for sharing.

There are many out there with varying side effects. I'm taking celexa, 40 mg per day. The first few weeks I noticed I had some sleep problems and had to urinate a lot. The went away. The only remaining side effect is a sexual one. Since I'm not having sex, it not a problem.
I took the St. Johns Wort for for about 5 months but was having trouble controling my temper especially around the kids. Thats when i got the prescription. The Dr started me on 20 mg per day but I could feel an undertone of anger. When they upped it to 40 mg. that feeling went away. I have no other side effects, I'm not a medicine head or anything.
Talk to your Dr.
