Just had a talk with Steve Harley this morning, and I think I'll try to keep my Plan A course for just a little while longer. I'll step back and reevaluate where I have come from, where I'm going to, and what I can do better for the next 3-4 weeks. I'll hold off on a letter I'd composed - was kinda blunt, Dobson-ish - may redo it a little, use it in conversation, if pushed - she HAS responded by sliding back towards responsibility when pushed, believe it or not. Steve wants me to ask her to talk to him, but I don't think she'll go for it - I've presented the option before.
We'll see... I've just got to believe things can't be very fun on the other side of the fence right now. On the positive side, she cuddled up to me in bed on Saturday morning, and said "I love you" as she left Monday morning. On the downside, I think she saw OM on Saturday afternoon. Had a slip of the tounge - should have been a "she" but it came out as a "he" when describing who she was with.
I know I need to stop enabling, but want to do so as "cleanly" as I can... hate to give up this place I could rent, but I'd prefer to do a transition with the help of Steve - supposed to send him a copy of my Plan B letter.
I think I earned some points taking care of her yesterday - she's getting a head cold. Got several "thanks yous" from her.
Found an old e-mail from her from last May... called me "Babe" and signed it "Love"... doesn't sound like someone who thought being married to me was a "bad idea" at the time...
[ May 13, 2002: Message edited by: J.R. ]
