Hey Pat,
Just read what you wrote to dani, you are back!!! I knew you would pull through, I'm not saying that the anger was wrong I am just saying that I was concerned that you were going to let it consume you and I didn't want that to happen to you. You are so much better then that and have become such a strong person. You gave her some very good advice!! About controlling someone elses behaviour, we can't, we just have to deal with the aftermath of that behaviour.
How did the swim meet go?
I have a friend that is moving down there to WAFB, she is a PA at the Hosp, she's looking for a house to buy or rent probably in Burg, do you know of any off hand? What did you decide about your house?
Let me know, take care and have a good Thursday!!!
Dawn

Thanks Dawn,
I am doing better again...just had a few days of self pity. I kind of thought with the divorce over--I would be able to get off the roller coaster ride....but I am finding the emotions still go through ups and downs...
I made it through the swim meet ok. Bimbo wasn't there--but I was prepared even if she was. I am going to try to not stoop to their level anymore--they are the ones who look like fools. It was interesting to note--I got lots of support from the swim parents--I have worked with them for 9 years now. The only people that would interact with exH were parents from the other team. A little satisfaction with that.
Lots of building in the area. Houses have really gone up tho. We have a number in our neighborhood--nice little starter houses--but they have a huge price. I don't know of any rentals tho. The townhouses are nice--and they still have some that are ready to go--good location too.
I think I am going to try to stay here in the house. I went over and looked at the new townhouses--they are nice--but the quality isn't what I have in my house. I am getting pretty confident here--I got the deck power washed and half of it stained. It looks pretty good too. The other day when I was so angry about the baseball scene--I took out that anger on the basement. It looks great. I talked to my builder friend over at the townhouses--and he might show me how to do some of the framing and such...maybe I will tackle these construction projects on my own. I don't have any experience--but it might be fun to learn. Besides, in the long run--it would be great to show my exH

I am slowly but surely taking on some of the work that needs to be done around here. I got the bushes trimmed (did great until I cut the power cord--oh...what's that flame down there lol). I am starting to get kind of cocky....
Are you still coming to the 'burg this summer?

Yes I still plan on coming to burg and knob, probably won't be til Aug now though.
So how did the power wash thing go with the deck I need to do that to mine. And then re seal it.
My dad is retired again and lives across the street, so he does a lot for me, at first I felt guilty, but have come to realise that he enjoys doing it and seems to only do the things that he wants, still have a plumbing problem I don't think he enjoys plumbing work, but if I were to start the project he will come over to help. My mom retires in January and I am sure he will find more things at my house that will need to be done. See he is also my landlord.
As far as framing in your basement piece of cake, have helped with that before, the framing part is real easy it's anchoring into the concrete floor that is the problem. You might need some help with that, but do what I have done in the past when I need some heavy work done, tell my daughter go date the football team!!!
Where are the townhouse located at that you are talking about?
Glad that the swim meet went ok, yes I've told you people are talking about h im. I think you are wise to have a game plan ready for when you do have to come into contact with her. I believe that you got shocked by her attendance at the ball game and reacted by your gut which is out of character for you!! Nothing more, you did not lower yourself to their standard by any means.
C ya, Dawn

Hey, I agree with Dawn. Pat, you are doing so good. I think we all will have anger issues for awhile.
The STBX just left with the boys for the wkend. My OS is so surly right now I have to say I was glad to see them go. 3 days to myself.

I feel bad about butting into Dawn's picture thread, so I decided to come butt in over here. And I was afraid people would think I was crazy if I started a dachshund thread.
Here are pictures of two of my five dogs (6 counting the one granddog) . Emma was born with only three legs and other skeletal abnormalities. She is so much fun; runs like the wind but poops out quickly. She only weighs 5 pounds, but she thinks she is a Doberman! GS Sebastian asked his dad, "Why did Nina and Papa cut off her leg?" I can only imagine what was going through his mind about us when he was wondering that.
Hanna is sweet and beautiful. Not shown is Andy whom we adopted through our vet who knew a sucker when she saw one. So we acquired three dachshunds last summer. We also have a beagle and a blind/deaf cocker spaniel.
I feel sad for the emotions that you are experiencing now that "they" are out together in public. Just consider the source, as my grandma used to say. You know that your friends, the other parents, know your character. They have already made their decision about him and her. I like the idea of your staying in your own home.
My children swam competitively for 10 years. Both were on their HS swim team. It becomes a way of life! Do you time, work the concessions stand, officiate? I really enjoyed that phase of our lives and have lots of fond memories. Do your kids have the shiny, shiny swimmers' hair? You can tell a swimmer a block away by the condition of their hair!
Estes
[ June 14, 2002: Message edited by: Estes49 ]

They only have three grandchildren!!!UGH!!!!
You butt in wherever and whenever you like we all love you!!!
You will need to start the official album thread!!! Only if you want!!!
C ya, Dawn

Dear Dawn, Sing and Estes,
I did absolutely nothing today I bought the new Jean Auel book: The Shelters of Stone and got caught up in reading. It is nice to read something besides a relationship book for a change. I feel guilty not doing anything else today though.
Dawn:
The power washing was a cinch. We have a huge deck--so it took awhile. My arms and shoulders really ached when it was over. I wish I had one of those machines--it would be great for a lot of things. I still only have 1/2 of the deck stained however--it keeps raining!! You are really fortunate to have your father nearby to help out. I am amazed at how many things break that I don't know how to fix. I am learning tho.
Sing, Too bad you aren't closer. My ex picks up the little ones tomorrow evening. I also will have the weekend off. I am kind of looking forward to it this time.
Estes, I love your puppies. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for dachshunds. They are so cute. I bred Peaches twice--we had 6 puppies. (Peaches was from Georgia--hence the name). I wish I had kept one. My youngest daughter came home with another kitten the other day....looks like we will have a dog and 2 cats now. They know if they can keep the animal here long enough--I always give in. They took them in for shots and stuff yesterday and said that there was 2 adorable dachshund pups at the vets. That would be fun.
The kids have always been swimmers. Unfortunately here, swimming and soccer seasons are at the same time--and the girls always go to soccer. So now I just have Kaitie and Kyle swimming. They do have that blong shiney hair. I love it. I usually do the ribbons--but I timed last night. I love outdoor meets. The kids love it.
It was good hearing from all of you. I appreciate your encouragement and support. I guess I am still in a transition period here with my emotions. I hope I can get on with my life soon. Take Care Pat

Thanks Dawn,
Forgot to mention the townhouses are on DD highway--just down from the high school. They really are nice. Probably a good buy for someone coming in for a few years.
Actually, a good buy for me--sometime in the future. I kind of like having my own house, especially with all the kids. Will see what happens.
Better run...have to barbeque some chicken. Have a good nite. Pat

Scrapbooking can be addictive. Just be sure to tell your mom that she has to label all of the pictures. Thirty albums!!!! I love to take pictures, so I can identify with your mom. Having a scanner and/or digital camera makes it so easy to share pictures online.
What about this. Start a thread for photos and people could add or delete their pictures at will. This way they could reveal as much or as little as they want to. They could use their screen names or whatever they want. If people don't know how to set up a photo account, we could coach them. The one thing I had to learn is to log out of the account before cutting and pasting the URL so that I didn't post an open page, one that visitors could alter.
Do you think people would feel safe posting on such a public forum? I go back after a few days and edit the link to my photos so I don't forget. You never know who is reading your posts. You have to assume that anything you post is there for the world to see.
Estes

So very true, I think that something like that would work.
Mom has the albums marked as far as years not each picture. She is not the scraping book type just has them all put albums as opposed to a shoebox.
Every summer when my kids would come to visit on rainy icky days they would set and look at pictures and watch family videos. They loved it then!!!
Dawn

Pat,
it would be nice if all of us recovering BS without our spouses could meet at a spa or something on the x's wkend.
Dawn, I'm still not D yet. Should maybe by the end of the summer. I have really drug it out. Don't know why STBX has not pushed me to finish it. I'm hoping to drag it out through the end of summer for my own selfish enjoyment. Don't think I take STBX back for all the tea in China & I really love tea.
I think I am going to take a home repair course. My dad always did everything & then STBX did a lot till the traveling started taking up so much of his time.
I'm using my 3 days too study for the TX Excet exams. What I get for not turning in paperwork 20 yrs ago.

Dev last wk & the 1st thing that was said social studies composit is the hardest exam. Great it has been a long time since I had some of these classes. I wasn't too worried till then. I wish I had turned in everything in the 80's before all the changes. I remember asking the STBX do you think I ought to do this just in case, his reply why you will never need it. Well you are all welcome to come to the beautiful Black Hills, lets see 2nd week of August is biker week, lots of fun, lots of partying haven't been there for along time. We would be close to half way from Texas and Washington. The airports kind of dinky and hard to get in and out of.
Good luck with the exams sing!!! Not a fun way to spend a weekend on your own!!!
Dawn

Pat,
Shelters of Stone is an AWESOME book. I read it last week to get a break from relationship books. You will not be able to put it down if you've liked the rest of the series.

Dear Dani,
I am enjoying the book....and have been reading it whenever I can....It really is nice to read something besides a relationship book for a change. I have enjoyed all of the clan series--I waited for this one to come out for a long time.
I heard Jean Auel is writing another one too...hope it doesn't take as long this time.
How are you doing tonight. Did your husband make the trip? Hope you are doing ok. Pat
