Put on your high heel sneakers / Poll: Are 2 inch heels really more comfortable than flats?
Those of you familiar with my story know that with my DW prolific Se*ual history, I feel we have some issues of se*aholic. I feel this is many times manifested in her manner of dress. She knows I don’t always appreciate her Brittany Spear wannabe look. She works in retail sales & ison her feet all day & she complains how her feet hurt. Typically she wears 2 inch sandals, slippers with a couple straps holding the toes in. She wears this style to church meetings, to the pool, to the grocery – she may own one or two flat pair of shoes. She wears4 or 5 heels on a regular basis (she of course has many more for special occasions or outfits). I suggest that flat shoes may be more comfortable. She tells me that because of the slanted angle, the heels are more comfortable than flat shoes. Please comment. Is this true? Have many of you found heels more comfortable than flats? I am curious. Please tell me your experience. Peace, HH

HH,
This depends SO MUCH on the construction of the shoe that it is impossible to give you a definitive, blanket answer. I have several pair of really cute Stride Rite sandals w/ 2-3" heel that are much more comfortable than a pair of Liz Claiborne flats that I have.
Given that qualification, I will agree with your wife that flats feel abnormal on my feet. I don't know if that is because they are flat or because I am just used to 2-3" heels.

If a woman wears heels every day over a number of years, the calf muscles shorten, and the heel shoe would actually be more comfortable for such a person.

For me, it depends on the shoe itself. I find no difference in comfort - high or flat. I tend to wear high thinking it makes me look thinner somehow

hey HH, long time no see.
honest answer, given your W's history of dress, 2-3 " heels probably ARE more comfortable to her.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful & insightful replies! I have learned some things that I did not have a clue about. I appreciate your enthusiasm with this! You’re too kind! I know that the heels have a lot to do with her wannabe Brittany Spear look and I understand that this by itself is minor compared to other issues. I was just curious as to how far she makes her justifications and it seems that she has some basis for her position, that these types are in fact just as comfortable! And I am sure her tendons have shrunk, so she has become accustomed to this for sure!
I will admit that I have been influenced by things I see on TV and such with the glamour, erotic look, which will typically include Heels & I remember a Country Singer, Cindy Thomas (I believe that is her name?) talking that no matter what else she wears, it is the high heels that gives her the look she likes – She is seductively charming! Feelings attached here as well.
Peace, HH
