I'm ok. Thanks RH
Last night I had a tad too much to drink - bd party at the house for my gf - and wrote something silly and I realized that drinking and computing is not a good combination - I could have wrecked the operating system - . I was so happy last night that I wanted to salute everybody - BS and WS alike - here on the boards for their noble and courageous spirits and I wrote what I can now describe as an extremely embarrassing post that I decided to edit it completely. But I do mean to salute everybody here for their strength, compassion, and wisdom towards one another and to wish all of you the best that this life has to offer.

Actually, I had an interesting convo with my WW about drinking last weekend. She'd gotten 2 12 packs of beer at Costco on Thursday night on her way home from work. By Sunday afternoon, they were ALL GONE. I didn't drink all of them, but pretty nearly (she maybe had 4 the whole weekend. I drank a good 10 on Sunday alone. I didn't like the way it made me feel. Didn't even get more than a good buzz from them, it was so long a timeperiod and it was so hot and dry out. But made me feel icky nevertheless.
Anyway, my W very kindly said that it didn't make her feel comfortable when I drank that much, not that I get angry or anything (I never have, I'm a happy, silly, loud drunk). I agreed that it wasn't smart, and have promised not to drink more than 4 on a weekend day. So, Yesterday we bought another 2 12 packs, and there are still 5 bottles in the first one. I drank 2 yesterday and 3 today, and she drank 2.
It actually made me feel better about us to hear that she was concerned about me drinking.

That's a good resolution 2long and besides us 40ish guys have to watch out with our ever expanding mid-section
Yep got to maintain that boyish figure

Watching the mid-section often isn´t a problem for people on the infidelity diet... I could probably drink 25 Irish Coffees and still drop 2 lbs. It´s keeping the weight on so my pants aren´t continually falling down around my ankles that is the problem...
Sweden

Hey you know what?
Maybe I should change the title of this thread to the 'Infidelity bar' where the only drink served would be, what else, coffee and where yours truly would be the barista giving out free advice to those that would ask for it
[ June 24, 2002: Message edited by: TooMuchCoffeeMan ]

Hey, TMCM:
Where was that "too much coffee man!" cartoon, anyway? It's been a while since I saw it, and so I don't really even remember what the picture showed, exactly. But that's where you got the name, right?
-2damnedlong

Yep 2long, it was the little superhero character whose costume included a large coffee cup on the top of his head, that I used as my username AND the fact that some people close to me have been telling me that I'm drinking too much coffee 'man' - but hey when you work the graveyard shift, there isn't much choice to keep yourself awake, is there? - . Why don't you try using google to look up the cartoon character?

Jeffers decided that PBR stood for Pabst Blue Ribbon instead of psyco babble rabbit! LOL! Had the girls here baffled or something like that.
Ok Mr. Barista, how do you make a Mint Julep?
The CA bartenders here give me funny stares and all I want is one good mint julep!
L.

Hey TMCM,
Another graveyard vampire checking in to the Infidelity Bar for a spot--only I drink tea, so not too much coffee for me, man!
& Orchid, I DO remember that exchange where you described the Pabst Blue Ribbon bear! Too funny!
