Hi there, I noticed your response to Spacecase, and wanted to say hey. Are you active or unactive? My DH is unactive, but a Devil Dog all the same. I caught your Semper Fi and was curious. I had to smile when you mentioned about "getting the info." for Space. I know what you guys are capable of.

By the way, how are things in Texas? Are you near any of the flooding? Hope all is well. Take care, and Semper Fi.

Well, I actually EAS'd 07/95. BUT I am still very much a jarhead.. 8) Always will be. Hehe.. I thought I'd Recon the subject with SC so he'd have the anwsers he needed. Glad to meet other marines and their spouses. I was stationed at the 'little pentagon' over in Hawaii for 4 long... very long years. I loved it... except I made a huge mistake the 3rd week after my family arrived. We got in the car and drove around the Island of Oahu. Well, I soon learned I was stuck on a rock the size of the 610 loop in the middle of the ocean. I loved it ... Orchid (: but I sure missed the WIDE open spaces of Texas.

Only reason I'd like to live there... is that is where the W and I were truly happy, when we were together. Now if I was a bachelor, I'd be there in a heartbeat... but hey.. I got two boys to raise.

Thanks for posting. Very nice to meet you.

And.....

First - Thank you Orchid for bumping this up. Although it is way off topic, it's nice to vere away from the chaos sometimes. Thanks again.

H2Y - So nice to meet you. Sounds beautiful in Hawaii. Never had the chance to go there. My DH was stationed in NC, Camp Lejuene. It was really nice there though. I never lived there with him, but I visited often (he lived off base with a civilian that worked in the mess hall). It was a lot of fun there.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say hello to a fellow Jar Head. You know, as the saying goes, "once a Marine, always a Marine!"

Recently we joined a Marine Corp. League. It's mostly compiled of older people, but it is really nice and gives that whole family feeling of the Corp. They had a picnic last month and it was a lot of fun. It was then that I realized that you can have children after you are out and they are still "military brats". Our 4 yr. old son charmed the pants off of everyone, even the hard faced elder men. It was nice to see.

Anyhow, hope things are well for you, and I hope the floods in Texas are staying away from you. Take care. Semper Fi!

Welcome to you Rebuilding, and Semper Fi as well. However, former Marine? I prefer to say "inactive" Marine. As I wrote to H2Y, once a Marine always a Marine - and you guys surely have earned that right. My best to you. I hope all is going well in your rebuilding. Take care.
