I have been thinking about the poison issue, and seemed to remember something about a claw or something, so I looked it up (I knew it can't bite...:
The male Platypus has a sharp, hollow, horny spur about 15 millimetres long on the inside of both hind leg ankles. This is connected to a venom gland which produces a very strong toxin. The spur can be used in defence against predators (the venom can cause excruciating pain in humans and is strong enough to kill a dog.) but the fact that it is restricted to the male - and that the gland reaches its greatest development in the mating season - suggests that it is normally employed in aggressive encounters between males.

My xWH is scared to death of lizards, so he finds the Jesus Christ Lizard extremely icky lol. I find them actually very interesting and in a strange way "cute". Also, if I hadn't already chosen 2long, there's a character in a series of sci-fi (pronounced "Skiffy") short stories I read 30 years or so ago by Italo Calvino (books I read were "Cosmic comics" and "Tzero"). This character had the most unpronouncable name imaginable:
Qfwfq
They were fun stories, too. Started with a simple statement of a scientific fact, and then a story built around that statement. One had Qfwfq evolving from a fish to an amphibian, during the Devonian Period, along with his girlfriend. Well, things don't go well for ol' Qfwfq, and this smooth-talking fish talks Qfwfq's girlfriend back into the pond, and Qfwfq is left to evolve by himself. Very cute stories.

Re purple shoes: Just that I've been known for buying wild colored Converse Allstars all my life. One time I had a pair that were black, with metallic red, green, bule, and gold checkers on them.
