Good morning all,
Well, the weekend's finally here. I'll be moving out. My WW has been in Vegas all week for work and I've moved most of my stuff. A few odds and ends, but other than that I'm ready to go. It's sad but also a relief. I really need to be away from her, remove myself from the equation and give her some time to deal with her own "stuff". Hopefully she'll give herself some time. We'll have to put the house on the market soon, but I want to get settled in and I want to see how our daughter adjusts to one change at a time. There's really no reason for my W to drag her feet on the D anymore, so these next few weeks will be telling. If she starts pusing me to sell the house, I'm not going to try to stall it. It's time to let her go.

I am so sad for you, but hopefully this will put a whole new spin on things and you can be 'happydad' instead of the other. We have both been members on this site for a little over a year, and it looks like there are finally some answers for both of us. I truly hope that it all works out for you, and especially for your daughter. Keep posting, this is an incredible support network cause we are all on the same boat. Wish it was a better cruise line, don't you?
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers today. Look me up if you need to talk.

Hi SD - I haven't been 'round here much lately, so I'm not up to speed on your situation - but I can probably guess it pretty well. I validate your sorrow in arriving at this point, but frequently we have to take one step backwards in order to take two steps forward.
You will weather this and come out ahead. It reminds me of that song lyric, "I don't know what's coming, but I know what I'm leaving behind." (Billy Joel?)
Be strong for your daughter.

This may sound strange and maybe I'm kidding myself, but I'm looking forward to moving out and I'm not the least bit upset about it. That could change a week from now.
Will I miss not seeing my daughter everyday? Yes, but when I do see her, I'll have her all to myself. And when I don't, I'll be able to do whatever I want and not be accountable to anyone. Gives me a sense of control of my life. If I want to walk around naked all day smoking cigars and drinking milk right from the container, I can. If I want to ball my eyes out, I can. If I just want to scream, I can.
Will I miss my house? Yes, but not the rooms or the furniture. I'll miss what it represented. It was a symbol of our marriage and what we've accomplished, but it's been a token symbol these past 20 months.
Will I miss my W? No. Not the W she's been these past 20 months. I'll miss the W she was for 4-1/2 years, but I've been missing HER for along time.

Well, I moved out this weekend. Things went well and I feel pretty good about it. It's nice to have a sense of control of my life. My W stopped by to drop off our daughter before going to her PT job. I think she was a little surprised to see how well settled in I was. I went to a b-day party for my friend's daughter today and my daughter was upset that she couldn't go, but she's got to get used to those kind of things.
I guess right now I'll just have to wait and see if my W picks up the pace with the D or uses this time away from me to deal with the root causes of her unhappiness and the reality of divorce. The next month or so will be very telling.
