Nothing.
An EA is an emotional affair, one where there's no physical contact between the affairees.

The question should be what is the difference between an EA and a PA? An EA IS an affair. The best description of an EA I have found is under: www.relationship-institute.com (look under articles). It's easy for a WS (or anybody else for that matter) to dismiss an EA as not being an affair because it wasn't physical, but I can tell you from my own experience I'd rather my W had told me she had a one night stand than hear her tell OM she was in love with him. sad dad

I agree with you sad dad, at least a one night stand was just that.
As far as EA vs PA they are both painful and I can't compare them, only that the PA to me, is just bad, because you have these pictures in your mind about how they did it? where they did it? was it good? better than me? and the list goes on and on.
just got a little carried away, made me have flashbacks.

You're right. EAs are just as devastating to the BS as PAs. For most, the EA precedes the PA and comes on subtly, so that by the time the affairees realize they're attracted to each other, their sense of morality can't stop them from taking it further.
