Well, ok...I've got some opinions...but none set in stone.
For one....YES, I DO think you're rationalizing and still "assuming" how she'll take this or that. It's got a name..it's called CARETAKING.
BUT, you said yourself that the NC agreement was in fact broken for a short time...so yes, I do think your response would be more polite than just ignoring her.
Her response is a good one, if it's valid. Unfortunatly there's also a good chance it's more fluff to send your way to keep you hanging.
