I'm not from Wisconsin, but there are alot of things to do. If you like baseball and the Brewers are in town, check out the new staduim, it's supposed to be incredible. If you want something on the romantic side, try Door County. A little pricey, but I hear it's beautiful. Or you could head to the Dells. Lot's of water parks, carnival rides, boat rides, little shops.
Depends on where you're going to be. Good luck.

We are having our State Fair starting this Thursday, opening day, to next Sunday August 12? (sorry don't have a calender in front of me) It usually runs for 10 days, also check out our Zoo and Museum, the Imax theater is in the museum , that is always a great treat. Since you will be in Milwaukee, everything mentioned is right there. Hope you have a great time at the Con fair!!

Hey Layli!! I'm a homegrown cheesehead myself! I don't live in WI, but most of my relatives do and we try to get up there once a year. We're headed up in Sept for a big Cheese festival!!

My recommendations would be:

Wisconsin Dells, lots of entertaining stuff to do and see there.

House on the Rock, I LOVED it, hubby thought it was a huge garage sale :-P

Cave of the Winds, pretty neat

MALLS, any and all MALLS! Sorry...I'm a country gal in the middle of Nebraska...we don't HAVE MALLS here. The closest is 3 hours away...and we're headed there tomorrow!!! YEA!!!

Don't get discouraged...you may be making more headway than you realize. You said he's still planning on leaving...when are his plans set to go? I'm just curious if it's all talk or if he'll actually make it out the door. Wouldn't be much different than me and our divorce. I actually saw a lawyer, actually had a date...still couldn't go through with it. Don't give up hope!!

You know hope, I just have to say I think it is terriffic that you always try to have something positive to say about everyones postings. what would we do without you?
Well I haven't actually asked in a few weeks if his plans are still on. She is still writing letters and sending pictures so I just assume. We are going away just the 2 of us this weekend to visit my Mom in Nevada. He hates to go...never goes. then we leave on wed for cheeseland. He says things like "I love you so much" and we are very loving and affectionate. No relationship stuff. I was about empty on my lovebank balance so I have been playing it super cool for a few weeks.
I have no clue on when he is planning on things. He has sort of been planning since 5 months before I found out but nothing came of it.
So you don't think I am stupid to just shut up and plan for the worst and hope for the best?
I have had insomnia really bad and everytime I look at him thoughts of him saying things to ow flash in my mind and I just go cold. Probably doesn't make sense as I am very tired but makes it hard to keep the love bank in existence.
Thanks for everything.

h4f: I believe that you meant "Cave of the Mounds." (Isn't Cave of the Winds in Colorado?)

I like hiking in Devil's Lake State Park. This weekend we are going canoeing on the Wisconsin River.

Wisconsin has quite a bit of online information, so you can plan your trip in advance. At the State of Wisconsin web site, you can get information about any state agency. I use the navigation bar in the left and select "Visiting" and that take me to the Tourism Information website. Here you can search by Recreation & Attractions or Destinations.

I hope you find this web site helpful.

Nah, I meant take I-80 south and head on down to Colorado...I'm on the way so you can stop here and visit me, LOL!!

I used to live in Colorado...so yup, I mixed em up! Both are pretty :-)

I thought about that website too and forgot to mention it, duh!! Thanks L&L!!

Layli...I don't think you're hubby is acting like someone who wants to leave you. I love you so much, and all the attention he is giving you...doesn't sound like someone who wants that to end. He just can't stand the thought of losing the OTHER part of his happiness too...so he's cake eating as long as he possibly can. You can continue it for a while...but eventually he WILL have to come to a decision...and you may have to be implimental in that (ie Plan B).

In the last chapter of His Needs Her needs they say that a woman only wants to love one man at a time, whereas a man is comfortable loving many women. So I think it may be harder for a man to give up his cake...but certainly not impossible. I think for it to happen effectively and permanently...he has to come to the decision himself and because the A has reached its end.

Anyway, sounds like a fun trip. Enjoy yourself!!! EAT CHEESE! I prefer the Landjaeger meat sticks, myself. Your jaw hurts after gnawing on one, but they are soooo yummy!
