I have been in Plan B since Jan 02. Minimum contact only regarding children. Since WH left he refuses to speak to me regarding well being or education of children. Has total disrespect for me as a mother.
Met for dinner in June 02 and we discussed that things will change. Nothing happened.
As he live in another town children must now fly to him. Had kids for first visit soon after he moved but then two months passed before he send for them again. He first discussed this with 9yo and then informed me. I let the children go as they miss their dad very much.
Well, now he is coming to our town on business and just phoned to say he wants the kids. Asked him where he was going to stay and said he intended taking kids to his dad which is about two hrs drive from where we stay. As he caught me unaware, I told him that I will get back to him as we had already planned our weekend.
This is the first time that he is on his own and OW will not be with. We have moved on with our lives. I get the feeling that he is afraid to be alone in our town as he has completely alienated him from friends and family.
Do I tell him he can only have the children for one day or do I give in to his demand of having the children the whole weekend.
Another though is that it will be good for him to be alone with his dad as since OW is in the picture she has given him no space whatsoever.
I need to let him know today what I have decided.
He also sound so sad.
What do I do.

GinnyF,
I have some experience with the WS calling at the drop of a hat to see the kids. I have finally learned that it is easier on you and the kids if you set up a structured visitation schedule for your WS to see the kids.
I think that since he is in town that he could see the kids. This is for their own well fair. Just think if you are out at a gas station and happen to run into him. What would the children think? If you don't think that the kids are in danger or if you can modify your plans for the weekend, then I think that you let him take them for the weekend. It is a special time since he is not so far away.

GinnyF - I would say since he is going to be in town and the children miss him let them see him.. But I would also tell him that you know what they are your children they do miss you - so since you are so far away we should set up a schedule - that way the kids won't think they are being neglected by their father. Good Luck

Ginny,
I agree with others that the kids should see him. With him being so far away, they need to see him any chance they can get.
