I have to find an old email with all the possible vaiations of ROFLOL...

But since we're on acronyms, I thought I'd throw this one out:

quote:
ACRONYM Abbreviated Coded Rendition Of Name Yielding Meaning

BUNDY But Unfortunately Not Dead Yet. Nurses' and doctors receptionists' shorthand, but has many other applications elsewhere...I can see it's uses here at MB LOL!!!

FUBAR Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition.

JFDI Just Frigging Do It. Polite version. Pronounced 'Jifdi', this should surely be every procrastinator's motto. A must for management training.

LOBNAH Lights On But Nobody's At Home. For people who say that they've been listening when really we know they haven't. Also useful to describe common WS condition.

OSINTOT Oh S--t I Never Thought Of That. Great for project management. I should know! LOL!!!

PEBCAK Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard. One of the great modern acronyms. Usage not restricted to the computer operators - apply to any situation where the human element contributes the weakest link. I've thought of using this one for 2L, but I'm ALMOST sure the problem is with his MACs!

WYGIWYD What You Get Is What You Deserve. Much more fun than the original. Great reminder for people who still don't understand that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. And that nobody, especially monkeys, can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Also great for people who can't brief designers and programmers properly, don't check copy until final proof stage, keep changing specifications while work's under way, etc. You know the types...

YOYO You're On Your Own. Obvious and wide-ranging uses, particularly for those moments when someone's digging a hole for themselves or trying to flog a dead horse.

Believe it or not, these are all from a Business Communications book!

Hey 2long for some strange reason, I was listening to this old Byrds tune and I thought of you

Woke up this morning with light in my eyes
and then realized it was still dark outside
It was a light comin´down from the sky
I don´t know who or why

Must be those strangers that come every night
Whose saucers shaped light put people up tight
Leave blue green footprints that glow in the dark
I hope they get home all right

Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
I won´t do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
for a ride

Woke up this mornin´, I was feeling quite weird
Had flies in my beer, my tooth paste was smeared
I opened my window, they´d written my name
said: "So long, we´ll see you again".

Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
I won´t do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
for a ride

Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
I won´t do anything wrong
Hey Mr.Spaceman, won´t you please take me along
for a ride

"Tell me about the waters of your homeworld, TooMuchCoffeeMan."

Hm... ...doesn't sound as good as it did in the book, or the miniseries!

GOMER .... also used by nurses ....applicable for when someone who is a "train wreck" shows up .... translation... "Get Out of My Emergency Room"

We used this one in the special care nursery ... when a particular type of infant showed up ... and we wern't quite sure what the diagnosis was ... yet ... but, we were sure something was "wrong" ..... FLK .... translation "Funny Looking Kid"

There are more ... but, they're awful(er).
