I have read so many stories here in the last couple of years that I am curios as to these questions. Thanks for answering all!

OW#1 was a friend of mine.... supposedly MORE of my friend than FWH's . But we live and learn, don't we?
In my case, the other OW's were people that were strangers to us. My H met them online.
So, although I answered that the OP was a friend/co-worker, my answer could just as well be the other one.
But then again, those of us whose mates were in numerous A's have different issues to deal with than those who only have one OP.
My bet is that the outcome will be close. But that's mainly due to the increasing number of internet users and the availability of it all for more EA's.

OW was an old friend to FWH. He has known her longer than he has known me. And you know what's really strange? She never really did seem to like me very much. (RED FLAG -- RED FLAG!)

Not a friend of mine...she was/is a co-worker of his. (I met her briefly, twice.) They have shifts that overlap by 4 hours, and work different jobs...but same location.
Whenever a group of co-workers says "let's get together and go out drinking" - RUN, DON'T WALK away!!!! [ October 13, 2002, 04:36 PM: Message edited by: straycat ]

OW was one of my best friends. I drove her kids to school every day, we had family cookouts together, her family spent weekends with us at our vacation home in Maine. Husbands were friends, we were friends, kids were friends. The whole situation is horrible, but it is worse for the kids. Our sons, who are both 16, were best friends and now they barely speak to each other. Our daughters, 19 and 18, were also best friends, and only speak when my daughter is at OW and my H's house visiting. The loss goes so much deeper than just me losing the love of my life. It is so sad. BH

My H's OW (EA..only, I hope!) was his boss! She'd been having marital problems and my H became a good friend to her..giving her advice and sympathy. Little did I know how it would progress. I felt betrayed by her as much as him when I found out, because she knew me and we had even e-mailed a few times and I was sympathetic to her and felt fortunate that I was married to such a sensitive, caring man. What a fool I was!
She knew I was devoted to my H and we had (I thought anyway) a happy marriage.
They still work together. I remember my H asking me if he should change jobs, and I said no. Of course I thought how could I ask him to change jobs when he loves his job? I didn't realize at the time that I should have insisted on it! Don't know is boss' marital status now, but I'm sure they still talk and are friends. Especially now we've been separated 3 months.

The OM in my situation was a mutual friend of ours that we had met in 1998 through one of our daughter's friends. He is divorced and is a part time dad. We had moved into a new city at that time and were making new friends. He was one of the first to befriend us and we used to go over to visit with him quite often. Last year my wife decided to visit with him a little more often on her own! I think that you are going to find that nearly 75-80 percent of all affairs happen with people that are known to the wife and/or the husband, or both. I think it's the familiarity of being around someone so much that makes you relax and let your guard down more easily, hence, co-workers, friends, and relatives are the most likely partners in affairs.
