I have lost a total of 45 lbs since D-Day and I feel great! What's even better is that I haven't gained any weight in the last 2 months even though I feel like I am eating more than I used to, or should be eating, so I am holding steady at around 200 pounds. I feel good about that. My final goal is 185lbs with a 35"-36" waist. I have come down from a 44" waist to a 38" waist so far this year, so I think my final goal is achievable. Check out my weight loss pictures here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?username=scottman18Then chose "My Album-3Pics" then the Slideshow. Anyway, this got me to thinking about other MB'ers and their experiences with weight following D-Day, so take my poll and share your stories! [ October 21, 2002, 02:31 PM: Message edited by: Blind Sided ]

Although I was on the common "infidelity diet" thanks to my FWH, my situation was somewhat endangering... not so much to me, but to our unborn twin sons.
While 7 1/2 months pregnant, I lost 20 lbs in only 12 days!!! My OBGYN was FURIOUS with me! (even though I needed to lose the weight, in general).
I answered that I lost over 50lbs after d-day... but that's somewhat difficult to assess correctly, b/c of the pregnancy.
Unfortunately, since recovery began, I've gained it all back again. HOWEVER, it is all still for the best... as the main reason for the gain, is that I finally quit smoking!!! (don't applaud too much... I've been smoke free for over 7 1/2 months now... and haven't been able to lose much in that time).
I guess I'm technically at the "yo-yo" stage now.
I guess I'm also just a 'special case' here at MB. ROFLMAO!!!

I didn't analyze the poll results too closely, but I did notice that, although most agreed they were happy with the weight change, many were not happy with the "trend" of their weight changes after D-Day.
That was certainly my case, since I became anorexic and exercise obsessed after D-Day #1. Fought that battle for 6-7 years -- even thru pregnancy. During my pregnancy I ate only fat-free/low-cal animal crackers for breakfast, fat-free/sugar-free yogurt for lunch, and a VERY light supper...probably no more than 700 calories and 8-10 fat grams a day. I looked like a stick with a beach ball glued to its middle. But God proved His mercy and faithfulness, and my healthy girl weighed 7lb.-11oz!
Concern about weight can be a tricky thing...too little is bad, and too much can be tragic.
I guess you don't know until it's too late if you're one of those few who will go beyond losing a few lbs. when you're sad after D-Day, to trying to punish yourself by slowly disappearing.
I'm healed now, tho, thank God (and my family who never stopped praying).
Just some rambling thoughts about that. I should've gotten some therapy/counseling, but I didn't want help. I talk about my struggle often, but I mostly just want to warn others about what could happen if they let their weight become the biggest part of "who" they are. Lori

You look great! I know my dad didn't look that young when he became a grandpa! Whatever you're doing, it's workin'!
