She told me yesterday that I am using techniques (from books I've been reading) to win her back. She feels that in a way I am using her because I am doing this without her knowledge. She also feels that I am wasting my time because she's decided she wants a divorce. She thinks these changes are temporary, that if I win her back I'd go back to my old self. She says I can't change the behaviors and attitudes she dislikes about me.

I told her a couple of things. First, that the changes I am making are designed to better myself. They are a way to replace attitudes which I am not happy with. Secondly, that time will tell if my changes are temporary or permanent.

Am I being that obvious? Has anyone run into this before?
