Hello all.....I have a medical question I hope someone can help me with. My husband called me this morning and told me (for the first time) that he has been having some bleeding from his belly button for a few days now. I know this sounds kinda gross, but I have been searching the web most of the morning to try and find something, but I haven't had any luck. Before you ask, I already asked him if it was a just a pimple and he said no. He never goes to the doctor, in fact, he's never even met our primary care physician! Anyway, I was just hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Any input would certainly be appreciated.

I wouldn't think it was anything more then some type of scatch. There really isn't much there that should lead to problems. But, always check with the doctor...time he met him/her.

just wifey, Thanks for the response. I don't think it's a big deal either, it's just odd. When I was searching this morning it kinda freaked me out a bit to read about abdominal aneurysms and stuff. I have no idea........anyway, I guess we'll just have to keep it clean and keep an eye on for now. But for now, he just thinks he's sprung a leak or something!! Have a good weekend.......K

Most likely an infection. No chance bleeding from the belly button is an abdominal aneurysm. Keep it clean and apply some hydrogen peroxide twice daily and it should heal.

It depends upon how much bleeding is occurring. I used to have the same problem and doc told me that there are small sinus tracts in the belly button area that sometimes get infected. He told me to pour some hydrogen peroxide in, let it bubble and then dry it out -keep it dry.
Dh/WS is a physician and confirmed this. If the bleeding is profuse, he needs to be seen by a doc.
