Does anyone out there have a spouse that lies....about everything and anything. Lies outright and through omission. 10 years.....nothing's changed. Has anyone worked through this? I'm afraid to set boundaries saying this is one of the things I can't tolerate because I know as sure as I'm a blonde that he'll do it again.

Hi,
I probably shouldn't respond because you asked for someone who has worked through this. I'm 20 years and counting and he's still lying. I have told him countless times that someday he will lie one too many times and that will be it. He has lied about everything under the sun. I have had it! That along with his abusive nature, cheating and eveything else, I'm finished. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more encouraging. I tolerated it for so long because I truly did love him and wanted it to work out but I, for one, can no longer live like this. Let us know if you come up with a solution.

I've been married 25 years to my stbxh. And he has lied so many times in the last 3 years. Also, I have been going back to the lies that have happened before, and I finally realized that I have married a liar. He lied to me, and the kids. About things that he promised and didn't follow through with. He lied about his affair, and still denys a lot of it.

I was told, once they lie, and think they got away with it, they will continue. My H doesn't see where he did anything wrong. My H to this day is still in denial. I deserve much more than this, he deserves another liar, and that is where I hope he goes to his other woman, if he isn't already in contact with her. She lied to her family 2x, with sexual affairs. She lied to her kids, her family. She is a habitual liar too.

Let the 2 liars live in lies.

Just remember, God knows who is truthful, who is committed, who had done right, and who has done wrong. Just realize you are a good person, and all that your spouse is doing is manipulating you and coercing you to follow his words.

Stay alert, every minute. That is what I do, that is why I talk very slowly now, I have to think about everything he says, cause he twists words to makehimself look better. Be careful, you are dealing with a unthoughtful man.

Do they ever change? I know that God knows my heart and he has given me great discernment with the lies......but.....I just can't stand the mistrust I have in him. I've told him until I'm blue in the face about this. I've said it nicely, said it angrily, said it compassionately,e tc.....I've read books but the one most recently (something like When your spouse is a liar) mentions setting boundaries that means moving out or at least in separate rooms. I don't know if I have the courage yet to do this.
