Could someone please point me to threads dealing with use/affects of anti-depressants? I did a subject line search on the last 30 days but nothing came up.

Thank you.

I was just prescribed Lexapro. It's a relatively new drug, a derivitive of Celexa, with a single isomer. I'm having much success with it. I'm on 10 mg a day. Side effects I had in the first 5 days were nausea, loss of appetite, stomach pains, dry heaving, anxiety. They all passed and now I'm feeling great.

If you want real reviews from regular people on any drug, go to http://www.remedyfind.com and type in the drug name.

Do a search on www.webmd.com for whatever type of meds you are interested in. Ask your druggist about it, they should have fliers with all information needed.

I've taken Effexor for a year now and it has helped me a lot. When you first start taking it, it will make you feel kind of "racey" (like you've had WAY too much coffee). That only lasted a few days though. I took xanax and it helped take the edge off that feeling. I will tell you don't expect immediate results. It really is something you need to plan to take for at least a year to balance yourself out.

One warning - don't forget to take it, it has some pretty bad side affects (headache, nausea, it's like being really really seasick actually). You must taper off with a physicians help.

I currently take the maximum dosage (225mg). You will need to increase gradually, so if you feel like it's not working for you continue to check with your doctor on upping your dosage. It took me about 3 months to get to 225mg.

Good luck PB <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
