I don't know what it is but lately I have been feeling all alone. Alone in the sense that I wake up in the morning and it is so quiet. If I lay in bed I usually tear up. Nobody there to talk to, nobody there to keep me company. I come home to an empty house. When I go out I see so many happy couples together. I see my friends with their significant others and they are happy.
I was doing ok with the whole my wife(WS) has been living on her own for the past 4.5 months. The past few days have been hard and it has gotten to me. I try to stay out of the house and busy but lets face it I have to spend sometime at home. My family and friends have been there but those times at like 2:00 a.m. when I can't sleep there is nobody there. I am just not use to this because the last nine plus years were all different then this.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Confused,

Sorry you have to go through this. There were many times I felt this way. Even with kids at home there were times, especially late at night when the lonliness is (was) overwhelming. Not much advice expect to just accept it and face it. You will feel better as time goes on. I would listen to music at night or anything to get my mind on something else. I would often get up and post here.

Good luck to you.

Sharon

Does anyone else feel this way? Are you kidding? Me for one. And, especially the last few days. My H has been gone the same amount of time your W has - 4.5 months. I think the last few days have been hard for me, and perhaps for you too, because Christmas is coming. It's 'in the air' and of course there are more reasons for couples to be out shopping, etc., more commercials on tv showing loving couples, etc. But, the big thing for me, and maybe for you..is that this week I've been think about how if my H was here, we'd be out shopping for Xmas, or doing Xmas activities together.

I do have our 2 children living with me, so I have them as company when they're not with their Dad, but today I have felt so lonely. Just want someone to hug me and look at me. Is that too much to want in our lives? And, I want a partner to go shopping with and do Xmas activities with. I have lots of friends that I could be with, but it's not the same. We want our partner with us, for so many reasons. Feel very lonely after 4 & 1/2 months. I can relate to what you're saying.

Just hang in there. That's all we can do.

Keep posting. You can always post at 2:00 a.m. and get some feelings out.

I have been on my own for some time now, CG, and felt just like you did.

I still have those kind of days, and for some reason, lately they've been there more. Probably because of the holidays approaching.

What I do is keep busy .... and man do I ever pray alot.

Just know that you're not alone. To feel so alone makes one feel lost and disconnected, but if you know we are all here feeling as you do, that should help you thru it, no?

Love,
Jo

Dear confused guy,
We've been going through this about the same amount of time, and i feel your pain, friend. It is difficult, and everyone says we'll get through it, we just have to trust God that we will. Is there a church where you can find a support group? I'm starting a Divorce Care class in Jan. at a local Baptist church. I'm also starting a yoga class, which is helping with stress. Keep posting, we are here for you. Read the Psalms, and pray, pray, pray, even when the words won't come, God WILL help you. Let us know how you're doing/
