Well MB'ers........I have went to my first Christmas party alone....company one. Geez that's a toughy!

I dressed great, got compliments, the ditched diet works wonders! Everyone was wonderful and only one person asked where my WH was. I told them "gone, not sure where, living with OW/GF" ..didn't know what to really say!

I had to drive a long distance myself, park my car with valet and tip him, check my own coat, get my own drinks...I can do all that, but boy...I miss HIM!

Just a rant I guess...I have another party next weekend, with a nicer gown, a nicer place, still have to pay valet and coat check myself. *sigh*....no last dance for moi!

Shepette --

I like your attitude! I like your style!

What comes through your post is a woman who is very aware, immensely savvy, sensitive, and who remains undaunted throughout this ordeal.

It's heartening to read from someone who, although the pain is still apparent, is "making it" at the very least on character and temperament alone.

Way to go, Shepette, I'm in your corner!

Thank you both, you've made me smile today! I really DID have a good time yesterday. I was kind of suprised I suppose, I had figured that I would cringe at the sound of a happy christmas tune, and have to put on a fake smile for everyone while deep down inside I was sobbing the loss of my WH. It wasn't really like that at all, and I even danced more than I would have if WH was there with me! LOL!

This forum has helped me tons, WH left me end of July to live with OW, they rented a place together. I barely spoke to him since, and just last week I recieved a call from him out of the blue and we had a long happy conversation. My heart was so thrilled that day, but I can't dwell on that and must continue to work on myself still.

Football widow, you go girl, and you have the best time ever! It sure beats sitting around the house and who knows, you may have a GREAT time! Cinderella didn't meet Prince Charming while reading the MB Forum when she could have been dancing..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Shepette,

Glad you had fun. I can relate about the dancing, my H hates too. I LOVE TOO.

I will let you know how my party goes. Don't know about Prince Charming, but even a cute frog to kiss wouldn't be too bad right about now.

You sound great. Stay happy.

Sharon
