To the friends of 2long,

I have to honestly say that if my H ever decided to participate in this forum I would change my screen name too.

It's a different dynamic to post knowing your spouse is participating. When posting under this name I have been free to be exactly who I am at the moment without having to watch my words to "offer protection" to my H in MB terms.

I would rather be married than right too! But at the same time I do believe in radical honesty!! Just protection, always protection. That's the #1 rule in MB Land. No excuse at all not to always consistently offer protection. CSue

The other issue, aside from your own venting, is that sometimes others may chime in with their own possibly harsh opinions. So even though 2long may have been reasonable at times in his post, reading responses like "go to Plan B" "dump her" "how immature is that" will no doubt get Mrs. 2long into a negative frame of mind. She will associate those comments with 2long, whether he wrote them or not.

Please 2long, don't use numbers again!

I think the fresh start idea is a great one! I'm also glad to hear you're ready to try some honesty. I was worried you might decide the risks were too high to rock the boat and might stay in this situation forever! You deserve much better and I think your wife does too, if she'd only just drop her safety net for a change!!! GOOD LUCK!!

espoir: Gee, though. I want 2 use numbers again!!!

So what happened? Did you get bitten by some exotic bug and fall into a coma that simulated death or something?

Or

Did the aliens decide that you weren't a good specimen?

2long, I thought this quote from Zorweb on the KISA thread might interest you: KISA

quote:
My counselor told me that when a person has an affair, the BS and the OP become as two sides of one person.. it takes the two of them to meed the WS’s needs. Isn’t that what MB is saying too. That the WS’s gets some needs met by the BS and some met by the OP. One of the reasons it’s so hard for a WS to give up the affair is that then they give up half of what they want. It’s obviously a situation that is unfair to all but the WS.. who has at two people rushing around to win them over.

It made me think of your W. Just food for thought.

Take care,

Jen

Well, I think it may be time 2 rebury 2long. He's getting rather ripe.

I need a vacation.

I spend 2much time here, even now that I believe us 2 be in recovery.

I will acknowledge that I've been inspired by helping others here, but I've also noticed that I've been feeling myself getting dragged down emotionally by some of the stories I'm reading and posting 2. I don't mean 2 imply that you fine people are "responsible" for my reactions. Rather, in our present si2ation, where we probably really just started recovery less than 3 months ago, I need 2 focus my thoughts and energies on our M and our family. Otherwise, this delicate position may become precarious again. And I don't want that.

I may lurk from time 2 time, and someday I'll be back with a vengeance , but not until I feel like I've gotten myself and our M on a much more solid footing than right now.

Things are really getting busy at work, 2, and I need 2 keep my focus entirely on it while I'm here.

In case I don't come back for a long while and there's no familiar faces out there when I do re2rn, I want 2 make sure that all of you that have helped me through the past billion months since D-day (Jan 18, 2002, if I remember correctly ) know that I extend 2 you my sincerest thanks. ...you've saved me.

With much love,
-2long, Qfwfq, T-Zero

Thanks all, you guys are great!

I had 2 come back briefly and say hello to starman and nasakid, who've been gone a while.

committed, please say hello 2 your brother for me! I saw him logged in a day or 2 ago, and started a thread for him, but he musn't have seen it.

All. You have my email address, 2! Also, I'll still be "hanging out" at the www.iloveulove.com's forum, if you're looking for me.

Love,
-2long

Well, that worked... ...NOT

I changed my mind. Thanks, SS, for the email yes2rday. I don't know if you realize you helped, but you did.

I just need 2 meter my participation here. Not get carried a way. Moderation in all things, right?

I realize that my imagination can take control just as easily if I DON'T post 2 the board for feedback as if I do. So, I don't think that's my problem.

Anyway, I'm back, all better, and rarin' 2go!

...sort of. I'm still insanely busy, getting busier, and have a twit for a contractor 2 deal with still! (but not for much longer).

hee hee...I knew you'd be back.

I think in your past life you were a woman. Hey, that's not an insult, it's an HONOR!!!!!
