and it was no big deal.

She'd done something 80's rock band video-like with her hair. And her clothes were too tight.

She never came within 40 feet of me. No eye contact.

I was emotionally loaded for a bear hunt, dreamed of a horrible confrontation in the Ladies Room...nope, it was just a nice party where my H had his arm around me.

I think my life might be normal!

I'll let you know after the next party at the end of the week, I hope she has more ugly, bad-fitting clothing . Or wears the same thing, that would be ok.

I worried about what to wear, had my 17 year old daughter do my hair!!

Anyway, I'm glad for you. Good luck this weekend. YOU GO GIRL!!!

Lor -- Hey, the 80s bad hair and clothing are supposedly coming back in fashion. Looked bad then, and I'm sure it looks just as bad now. My sister who used to work in the fashion industry told me once "If you were young enough to wear that look the first time it came around, you are probably too old to wear it this time". (This time I'm thankful because I don't want to wear the big shoulder pads, giant perms, legwarmers, and giant earrings again).

Your post made me laugh and I'm glad that getting this event out of the way with no scary confrontations in the bathroom or anything else ugly was good for you.

Dazed--I think this my 7th party since reconciliation. I'm getting the hang of it. It helps that my marriage is good and my husband is much wiser. But those first couple, were so awkward and painful.

Unsureheart--as if retro 70's weren't bad enough. In the 80's I had my hair in a MULLET (short sides & top, past my shoulders in the back). My 17 year old has a sign in her room "fear the mullet". I'm sure it has nothing to do with her babyhood!

Baby Blue--I will let you know . I s'pose I should have said I looked great! Red looseweave shirt, black pants & boots. Hair like J Lo, long loose curls.

Now to find another "perfect" look...any suggestions?

LMAO! I love you Lor, that was pretty funny!

I'm sure the next party will be somewhat the same, meaning no badness from FOW. Altho, I'd also say to always have your radar set to kick in, cuz I've found it's eminent when you start to REALLY relax, you can be blind sided.

And hey, how come you didn't tell FOW that the 80's called and wanted their hairdo back??? LOL

Lv,
Jo

FootballWidow,
Is Ozzy Blonde now?

The next one include a keg & booze, so there is reason to think it might be different. I did so enjoy watching her turkey bowl one year...hard for anyone to look graceful throwing a frozen fowl. I'm not planning to try .

How are you doing, Sharon?

Lor -- I'm not even sure I can picture turkey bowling. It sounds pretty funny.

I never had a mullet, but I did have in order of appearance: a) bowl cut, b) dorothy hamill, c) feathered wings, d) big perm, e) straight and long, f) big perm, and finally g) my natural hair, wavy mid-length.

Let's see now, if your next party is a keg deal, I'm guessing that the xOW might show up with 80s hair and that outfit the twins wear on the beer ads/maybe those two tone athletic shorts that were popular then and a hooters t-shirt.

Hi Lor,

I am doing good. Thanks for asking.

What a funny picture: One turkey bowling another.

Have a good time at the party. I am sure you will shine through.

Sharon

Unsureheart,
Re the turkey bowling...it appears easy at first, the overnet makes a pretty good handle. After the first round the net is disintigrated, so the players work with the next layer of slippery plastic which rips. Then, it's just the bird. Hand up the neck or um, posterior. And with turkey thawing by sliding on a gym floor, you've got to think "salmonella".

Another game invention by drunk guys thinking "hey, what if..." . Oh, I meant drunken persons.

Hairdos: I know I never think my hair looks too bad, until 5 years later.

It's too cold here for the twins' outfit, and, afterall, she WORKS with these people.

can't sleep my H wouldn't let me go to the Friday party even pre-A, and during the 2 years of holiday seasons the A was ongoing he didn't invite me to either one. I understand how that feels for you.

Because of that these parties are triggerish for me, being invited is good, going is preferable to not going, the FOW being there is just something to deal with.

Sharon "one turkey bowling another" Good one LOL.
