Okay so this has nothing to do with relationships gone bad, or relationships that are happily on their way to recovery.

Whichever side of the coin you are on, I'm betting that music is one of life's constants that helps you to "get through this" (anyone else think of that Daniel Beddingfield song "Gotta Get Thru This" as a personal mantra?).

So my question to y'all is, what is the last CD you bought, and what do you think of it? Is the content just good rockin' tunes, mellow relaxation music, or lyrics with a message for living?

I'll start things off. I bought the new U2 "Best of 1990-2000". It is AWESOME (10/10), as is everything they've ever done. It's also fun to listen to songs that bring back so many good memories from the 90s and when marriage was good. Also, at least half of their music seems to have a positive message that cheers me up!

So let's hear some more!

Actually the last CD I got was a Birthday Present - 12/04 and it is Elton John - Thirty Years of Music - and there is no going wrong with that whatsoever - it brings me back to 4th grade with Philadelphia Freedom and Don't go Breaking my heart - I guess thats why they call it the blues - like 12th grade - then to Present I Want Love - a great CD - not a bad song on it -highly recommended if you love Elton....

OK, Jen, I'll play, but mostly because I bought one recently that NO ONE else will have - or find!

Bahamian Christmas. It's a collection of traditional Christmas tunes done in the junkanoo Bahamian style by various Bahamian artists. Really different and fun. Best listened to with a rum drink.

WAT:

Don't forget the little umbrellas in the drinks!

Last CD? Hm... I can't actually remember the last one I bought, but I did ask for the new Peter Gabriel CD for Xmas. Saw him in concert last week, which was pretty splendiferous. Loud, but splendiferous nonetheless.

BwaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahaha!

My son and I were listening to that just NOW on the lobotomy box! I don't know Hoey, but if that's the same version that's in the cartoon, it's been one of my favorites for years!

I can sort of relate this to relationships.

I have "purchased" many CDs since D-Day, 11/5/02.

I went on a Moby kick first and "bought" two CDs.

Then I went on a Corrs binge. No, not the beer , the band called The Corrs(really, errr attractive Irish band). I "bought" around 3 of their CDs.

Then I got I touch with my feelings and "bought" 4-5 Oasis CDs. The MTV unplugged Oasis is kick ***(esp Talk Tonight)!

Then Star Wars II came out of DVD(I better get this from my WW!!) so I became a nerd again and "bought" that ST.

Intermingled with those are Creed, Depeche Mode and Eminem CDs that I "bought".

Yeah! I guess I have bought a few CDs after all since D-day, but my 3-cell brain just forgot!

I agree. Good R stuff in Moby's song "Signs of Love":

"I was always looking and I held until the time began.
Solo things come at me I look to see where loss had ran.
I could have the sun, it come and touch me on my shoulder.
Think of all the things that I could wish that I had told her."

It's also a very beautiful song, instrumentalwise.

And there are many, many more...

Who's Next!

Put the CD in the Van, cranked it up. Funny, there is a lot of love and anger in thier music. Now I can leave home and take all the love and anger with....

Also picked up the guitar again after a long absence. Feels good.

Hey Chris (CA123), get yourself a guitar.

I haven't bought a cd but I want to play, too!! I nearly cry everytime the Dixie Chicks sing "Landslide". However, I prefer Stevie Nicks. Does that tell you how old I am?

Okay all....

My last two were both Christmas CD's.....

I purchased the Christmas collection from all of our favorite Childhood Christmas Specials... This includes Gem's like the Heat Miser/Snow Miser song and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Then I had to go and get a GAG gift for a friend so I bought the Muppets Christmas with John Denver! I have that on LP somewhere in my childhood treasures.

dang, you people are old!! My latest was the new one by Counting Crows and it was NOT GOOD!! The one before that was the best of Collective Soul, my second favorite artist just behind Susan Tedeschi.
