Not that it's relevant in any way, but the company I work for also owns Match.com.

About 5-6 years ago I was a Match.com member. I met some really nice people there.
No major love connections, but some real connections!
I met this guy named Ernest. He and I hit it off (in the friend kind of way) and have remained friends. He met his wife on Match. They've been married 3 years and just had a baby.
I know a lot of other people who have met their mates on Jdate as well. What's the site for Jewish people looking for other jewish people.
Good luck.

They had a female and a male, looking for a match. The male, had his mother type in her sons credentials, and she interviewed the 3 women (at a pool club - shooting pool (sp). that she thought would be the most matched for her son. While they were playing pool, she asked questions. One was an accountant, one a photographer, and I forgot what the other one did.
The girl, had her two brothers, type in her credentials, and they interviewed the 3 men. One was self employed, one a computer man, one in stocks. They met the 3 men just at a table, and talked. You could see the one guy, was nervous, but the brothers were really nice, and joking, and made this guy feel at ease. He admitted that he was nervous.
Tomorrow, we will see who was chosen as their dates.
The match.com, stated that this is not a guarantee of finding someone compatible. This enables one to find what they really think about themselves. To look into themselves, and type about their personality, likes, dislikes, activities, etc. She herself didnot find her mate on the internet.
Tomorrow, I will watch the program and see what happens.

This thread on D/D has some discussion about match.com: Where do you find people to date?If you read it you'll learn that I'm an "alumnus." But I shudder to think of what may have occurred if my Mom or brother filled in my profile! Practicalfocus may still be kissing frogs!! The stunt Faith4me is describing is NOT the normal routine! Seriously, it worked for us, but like any other introduction tool, it's only the first step in the pas de deux that has existed since, well, the Garden.

hmmph,
My formerly wayward, turned super hubby, used match.com to look for dates during our false recovery.
I read somewhere that as many as 1/3 of people on these services are married.

The source, not the medium, creates the dishonesty.
How many suitors (and suitoresses) in bars, personal ads, or any place else where people meet are dishonest?

I am on both match & Yahoo!Personal , In Yahoo!Personal is plagued with porn bait and switch but Match is much better. I correspondent with a few of ladies from it and not yet interested to go beyond that yet. I agree w/ WAT, it a medium. IMVHO, it is much better than going to the bar/club ... you know at least what they are looking and of course what you are looking too . I have not go to Match live trips yet. They organize offline encounters (match live).
