Great? Yup! You read that right! The 2nd anniversary of d-day is coming up tomorrow, and I'm so good with it that it's almost scaring me!
As I just wrote in a thread to Knewjie the other day, I'm feeling so great now. I'm in awe of myself, and the emotional growth I've had is incredible. I can hardly believe the difference a few years has made.
Let's see... Feb. 6th, 2003... I kicked my H out of the house (his birthday was the next day! ). I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with our twin sons (fraternal), and discovered that my H was involved in an A with a SO-CALLED friend of mine. At that point it was only an EA... but I am one to believe that they are more dangerous to a M than a PA could ever be (emotionally speaking, of course).
In the next 2 weeks, I was a disaster. Although VERY pregnant, I was still on the "infidelity diet" and dropped 20 pounds in 12 days!!! My obgyn was furious of course, and part of my recovery from that, was being placed on hospital bedrest!! That was Feb. 15th. The twins were born by emergency c-section 2 days later, as my blood pressure hadn't yet gone down.
Oh, and did I mention, that February 11th marked 5 months since our son Andrew had passed away in his sleep?
What a mess I was!!! And yet somehow, I still knew that I wanted my M, and that I loved my H. It took a few months, but I was directed to MB, and have been sufferring my own addiction ever since.
Now it's 2 yrs later. I know I did the best I could to save my M (and thensome!). I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity at recovery with my H, however, due to (somewhat) unknown issues at the time, it was never meant to work out. As Harley tells us, if there is another addiction present, aside from the A itself, the plans won't work, b/c they won't be the base of a true recovery. True recovery cannot begin until those addictions are dealt with first.
Mini-update:
I met with my lawyer this afternoon, and we're less than 3 weeks away from having a court date to get interim (sole) custody to me. I still need to get more information to her regarding my affadavit, before it can be submitted... and she still needs the FINAL approval from legal aid to have the fees covered.
I also spoke with children's aid, and they haven't been able to get a court date set up yet, to get a court order to demand supervised visitations for H. Apparently, b/c I removed the kids from the environment before they were sexually and/or physically assaulted by H, the legal dept at CAS is having a hard time making the order!!! Sometimes the laws just don't make an ounce of sense!
That's it for now. Thanks for reading. I know it certainly felt good writing it all out!
