Well I gave my wife a copy of my separation agreement and she was not very happy. She thinks she is entitled to alimony, a part of my business and half custody of the kids. I of course see things differently. I am going to get primary custody of the kids and according to my lawyer there is nothing for her as far as financial obligations from me. All I really want is to be able to pay all my children's expenses and I expect my wife to be able to take care of herself. We have always struggled to pay the bills and she expects me to help her get into her own place and pay her bills for her. She got very upset and accused me of taking everything away from her.

I have thought long and hard about all this and have tried to leave emotion out of it. I truly believe that the kids are better off with me most of the time. My wife doesn't even have a place to live and no income at the moment. I would help her more if I could but she knows that's not possible. She can stay at her Mom's house until she can get a job and save up for her own place. This was her decision as much as it was mine but she expects me to do all this for her. I feel guilty because she is just hanging out there, but she is the one that left us and all I'm trying to do is protect me and the kids as well as I can.

Well I found out that she spent all day yesterday with the OM. After he blew her off this last time I thought she was done with him for sure, but I believe she is trying to talk him into letting her move back in with him. I'm sure she's telling him what a jerk I'm being and that she has no where else to turn, even though her family would take her in without any problem. I'm assuming this is typical WS behavior, blaming the BS for everything and making them out to be the bad guy. I can't help but feel guilty. Is there something I should be doing differently?

My wife has been so out of control with her behavior that I had decided to just file for a D and be done with it. But after my anger subsided I figured that since I have come this far I will start out with the separation agreement and am going to wait one more month to see if anything changes with her. I can change the separation to a D very easily, it won't even cost me any more money.

starman,

Sorry????? It sucks when it has to come to this but what choice did you really have. She doesn't want to be married anymore and when you take a step in that direction she gets pissed and runs to the OM. She can't stand on her own, can she?

You are the strong one here.

God Bless

Cheap made-for-TV movies are made of this stuff!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Seriously, that she is PRESSURING the OM to take her in pretty much insures that REALITY will hit that relationship like a ton of bricks and go over like a turd in a cesspool!

I think your separation strategy is a good one.

One of the reasons the OM gives for being afraid to commit to anything is that he is afraid of some kind of child abuse or sexual assault charges being filed against him at some point. Doesn't sound like someone who is ready to jump right in with both feet does it?
