Saw this on the D/D board so thought I'd hop over here and give my two cents worth.
The mid-point idea seems fairest...there is already a NYC group that meets together, yet only a few are able to attend because of geographical limitations. You might open it up to more people who haven't met if it was more centrally located.
As for Oprah, even if she was interested, tickets are VERY hard to get from what I've heard. I think there is a LONG waiting list and the shows are planned months in advance.

Chicago sounds great, so does Oprah. Dr Phil does too but I don't think he'll go for it, after all wouldn't it a form of competition. Some of his principals greatly differ from those of Dr Harley.

I'm in circles of public relations and event planning for a living and would love to help you guys out. I personally think that the only way this can be pulled off IS if the Harleys get involved. It's going to take some major funding, and there are going to be a few copyright laws that come into play that we will have to comply to.

My vote would be for Houston because there are so many of us here, its somewhat midway across the US and is hub for Continental and large base for Southwest Airlines, so easy in and out from almost anywhere.

Cerri, I've suggested that the Harley's hold a Forum gettogether when they do their weekend seminars, I think they'd get lots of us there.
I could do Chicago.
And there are a few Philadelphians on other boards. I'm on D/D & EN. I'd like to do Sesame Place for those of us with small children. I know a few here.
