H and I have been married a long time. H had 3 year affair, which produced a child-- recovery for several years has not gone well and now we have been separated legally for 3 months, he is now out of house for a month.
The question: right now , on Steve Harley's advice, I am in plan b-- just talking with H about kids, minimal talking when he picks up our kids for visitation, etc. He will have kids with him on father's day. I don't want to ruin the day for my children.
I guess I will have to help kids do presents for their father, but do I give him a gift or card?
My gut says no-- what do you all think?

Fathers Day is for the children to celebrate with the father. Get h9im sdomething from the kids if they want, but I wouldn't get him anything from you.
When we first got married, my (now ex) wife got pissed that I didn't get her something for mother's day. This was 4 years BEFORE we had any kids. [ June 05, 2003, 11:49 AM: Message edited by: Chris -CA123 ]

Do your kids want to give your WH father's day gifts? If so, then consider helping them buy them. Even though your money would be paying for those gifts, the gifts ARE their gifts, NOT yours, to their father. But don't give him any gifts from your part. [ June 05, 2003, 11:48 AM: Message edited by: T00MuchCoffeeMan ]
