My doctor has put me on some anti-depressants.

If your on Meds - What were your results like? Time to notice change? Relief from side effects?

Did you notice the change or did it just happen one day that you discovered you began to like the things you used to get enjoyment out of?

Thanks

Good guy,
I am on Celexa and I have found that for the most part there are no side effects. Initially I was very tired and the Dr. said that's a common side effect so she had me take my meds at bedtime rather than in the morning. Otherwise I have noticed no other side effects. As far as when did they start working... well I would say that I started noticing a difference after a couple of weeks and it wasn't like I just woke up one day and I was happy, it's more like you realize that you have a better capacity to handle stressful/sad situations. It doesn't numb you to the pain but it helps you to deal with it on a better level. In other words, things still affect you and you may still feel sad but you no longer have the "extremes" of emotions as you once had, it'll seem like you can handle it a little better. Does that make sense?

Hi there, i have recently been prescribed Prozac,

I noticed a difference after a few days <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> The side affects so far were very bad insomnia and headaches for the first 2 weeks. Also, no appetite for the first week.

I have been on them 5 weeks now and no other side effects. They have made me feel SO much better. The pain/anger is still around, but life feels good again. It has made me much calmer and less obsessed with the A.

If you don't get on with the ones you have, there are many different ones.

good luck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Hi Goodguy,

No you won't instantly feel a difference, but
over time, which most doctors say can be up to
4-6 weeks.

Doctors had a hard time finding the right one for
me.
I have taken over the past 5 years...
prozac, zoloft, and 3 others I can't remember the names right now. But now I am taking
Celexa, it is just right for me, if I remember
to take it every day.

I don't know why but, men seem to do well on
Wellbutrin, not many side effects. Just an idea, but only the doctor can prescibe to you.

Hope you feel better, -Ladysheep
