Since I never saw the tv show, I don't know anything about it. What would be the reason adult men would be interested in it? I thought it was a kid show. And does it have S&M on it? [An old friend of mine was telling me about the show and made some comments.]

I don't watch it often, it isn't really for kids, more for older kids, young adults, and those who like action I guess.
Buffy, she slays vampires. I think she fell in love with one too, so there is a story line around that, her conflict with slaying vampires and loving one. There is witchcraft too (I think), and I think two of the witches are lesbians (as I said, i don't watch it often, so I don't really know for sure some of this stuff).
As far as S&M, I've never seen that, and it is on Prime Time (I think).
The most sex type stuff I've seen has been kissing.
I'd say the only reason guys would like to watch it is because they get to see a cute, in shape blonde chick beat up monsters.

Wow, I'm finally an expert on something, here...
HI, My H & I are the biggest BTVS fans. My logon name is one of the characters, a crazy lady vampire.
Anyway, it's a really intelligent show. It has lots of puns and subtle humor that kids would miss. The writer, Joss Whedon (sp?) is so sharp, he gives the characters such great lines. Some of my favorite characters of all time are on that show. Great writing!
[A vampire, Spike, was in love with Buffy. Buffy says I could never love you, you're a murderer. Spike chuckles and says, 'The prisons are full of murders, and women marry them all the time!!'] I about snorted my beer through my nose on that one.
AND, it's got cool, scary, gross monsters, which appealed to my husband. Really creepy storylines, and we both love horror movies, so it seemed a natural.
Great storylines, I just cant say enough. And bonus, for the ladies, the guys in the show are hunks. H has commented before about my lust for Angel. There is even a website someone started with pictures of Angel with his shirt off and sweating
We didnt start watching it till a few years ago, it was in reruns, the series ended last year.
Being a show about good and evil, vampires and demons, there have been scenes where someone was tied up and just about to be torchured before they were rescued, but there is not any S&M, per se.
You should try it sometime. It's really funny Season 5 was a drag, but otherwise... - Dru

WOW, Dru you are a fan.
You even know the dialogue. I guess I got it all backwards. I knew someone loved someone.

HI Sue, Spike loved Buffy, but Buffy was in love with Angel, a vampire who's sole (sp?) was returned to him by a curse. So he was a good vampire and he helped and protected her.
A twist on the curse was that if Angel ever achieved true happiness, he would become evil again. So he fell in love with Buffy, he became evil, and she had to kill him. BUT, her love for him was so great that her tears falling on the place he died brought him back in his non-evil form a season later. He survived the Series Finale, and is still out there... somewhere
90210 had cute girls on it, but I didnt see many grown men watching that. Nope, they usually watch for the action/adventure monster hunting part. Well, the men 'I' know, anyway, who watch it AND admit to watching it. People are pretty quiet about it, cause it is silly, and does seem to be for a younger crowd. But if you mention it, fans come out of the woodwork... - Dru

Thanks for setting me straight. As you can tell, I dont' watch it often.
I think guys also watch because they like watching chicks fight and fight good.(even if it is choreographed) 90210 was more of a evening soap, and guys don't get into soap stuff.
I know of lots of guys that like Lora Croft (sp?), I think it has to do with the chick fighting stuff. Maybe some adventure too.
